HOWDY!! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I’m so excited that the Western Heritage is finally here. Not that I enjoy walking around in the 90′ degree weather for 6 hrs looking at the same things but I enjoy the chance to interact with other ADULTS! This is
something that I don’t get the chance to do too often so I’m ready to live it up!
My brother-in-law is in it again just like last year so it’s always fun to watch the rodeo and get to see your family in it. I’m sure my man misses those good ol’ days of rodeoing with his bro. Too bad, so sad;) They also have chuckwagon meals, cowboy poetry, lots of kids activities, ranch horse competitions, and more! I personally love to just browse the vendors and see what’s new for the year. I’m sure I’ll come back with all kinds of goodies!
Anyways, this like our “family vacation”. It’s the only time that we are gone for a little longer than the weekend and get to see everyone we know. I’m really lookin’ forward to everything except for figuring out what to wear:( I hate trying to stuff myself into certain clothing….blah.
So, we will be leaving on Thursday. I’m telling you this because I won’t be posting much until Monday. If I get time, I’ll post pictures while I’m there but don’t count on it. Hopefully I’ll come back with some fun stories and cool pictures of drunk cowboys;)
Fingers crossed that my new Dooney & Bourke handbag gets here before I leave!!!
LATER FOLKS:)
Oh, and don’t forget to enter my giveaways people! And if you’re a regular at my recipe blog, see if you notice anything different;)

Sometimes it’s refreshing to just go outside and enjoy nature. Of course here in West Texas, there ain’t a whole lot to look at! Finally, after months and months of no rain, we got a small shower. Not much, but enough to settle the dirt.
I’m tired so I’m just gonna post some pics and let you converse among yourselves. If you haven’t been checking out my food blog, then you’re missing out on some great prizes! Alrighty folks, I’m outta here.
Oh, I would like to know if you think the pictures are TOO big or not? Do you like the old size or the new size?

The only flower I could find in the pasture………

Stormy weather approaching….slowly getting dark…..

I absolutely love to see a hard working woman become successful with her own business, especially a woman with 3 children. Katja is just this woman I’m talking about. She happens to own Skimbaco, which is a very cool children’s boutique. It’s so cool in fact, that even Tom Cruise’s little Suri is wearing these super duper cute little ladybug shoes (Little Ladies Mary Janes) made by Monkey-Toes. Freakin’ adorable! The socks are just as cute and a must have because we absolutely have to match!!
Just in case you didn’t see Oprah’s show on Friday, she did an interview with Tom Cruise at his home. When she was checking things out, she picked up these cute little shoes and showed them to the camera!! It’s
those shoes that came from Katja’s Skimbaco boutique. WOOHOO! You can actually see the video for yourself.
Because of this exciting event, Katja has decided to give a pair away! WOOHOO again:) To enter, head on over to Skimbaco and browse around, watch the video, and buy something ’cause once you see what’s there, you’ll just have to get something!
Come back here and tell me what your favorite product is in the comments section. Yep, it’s that easy folks! This is open to U.S residents only…sorry. It begins May 5th and ends May 15th. Please be sure to include a valid email so I can contact you in the event that you are the winner.
See ya at Skimbaco.com!
P.S. If you feel like giving her shout out and a big old “YOU GO GIRL!”, then head on over to her blog where she tells you more about what she sent Tom and Katie…including underwear???
Oh, and Katja…..YOU GO GIRL!

Well, the works here have come and gone and I didn’t get hardly any pictures at all. The weather was horrible and there was always something going on that seem to be at the same time as the brandings. I decided to pick out a few of my favorites and share those with ya. I edited all of these, well, because they needed it. Luckily I didn’t have to do any acne treatment editing…LOL. I think they turned out decent but I’d love to hear what you guys think.
First up is some of the cowboy crew trying to settle the cattle down after rounding them up and herding them in. I chose black and white because the color was not appealing at all. In fact, there’s not much color any where out here at all! I was just driving up to the pens so I snapped this one from inside my truck.

Next up: After the calves have been sorted from their mommas, it’s time to drag them out one by one and brand them. This fella a-horseback happens to be a good friend of ours. Super nice guy who drinks Coca-Cola:) He probably won’t like this picture too much though because it shows him draggin’ one foot and not 2. Cowboys hate when they only catch one foot…that just ain’t punchy at all!

Time to brand…….After those 2 cowboys above have flipped the calf of its’ side, several cowboys come in at once and ear tag it, give it shots, cut the cajones (if they have them), and brand them.

And finally, I can’t show you cowboy pictures without getting at least one person’s backside! After all, Wranglers are what REAL cowboys wear;) This fella happens to be my girlfriend’s man! YES, she knows I took a picture of her man’s backside, in fact, I printed it off for her:)
