The Champ
I just got done watching this movie and bawling like a baby. I’m one of those people who imagines this stuff really happening.
I am shocked at how many people have NOT seen “The Champ“. It’s a classic and I lOVE IT! I read that Rick Schroder did this scene numerous times and had the same emotion every single take.
Just to give you a brief summary…
Ricky is raised by his dad (Jon Voight) after his mother leaves them. They are like 2 peas in a pod. His dad’s a drunk and has a bad gambling problem but Ricky always took care of him no matter what. Then he meets his mother(Faye Dunaway)….yadda, yadda, yadda. The ending scene is the most famous part of the movie though. After years of being a retired boxer, Ricky’s dad (the champ) decides to go back into the ring even though he shouldn’t due to past injuries to his head. He has his big fight and this is the end…………..

i know this is a movie and all, but, GEEZ, I am sitting here with my eyes full right now.
