Changing a Photo with Adobe and alike
I don’t edit any of my photos with the exception of cropping. I would love to know how but learning the programs and terms can be extremely time consuming and that’s something I don’t have right now. I’m always in the Digital Photography School Forum trying to learn this and that and decided to submit one of my photos to be critiqued by others just to see some of the things I need to work on. I also allowed them to play around with the photo and I have to say, one stood out the most. While it doesn’t really represent the original, it does make for a magnificent photo!!! I’d love to hear which one of the photos you like the most and why. Do you like photos in their original state, slight editing, or full blown photo makeover?
This first photo is the original cropped.

The second is the same but softened a bit.

Lastly, is the one that obviously has been dramatically changed. I think it’s soooooo cool!!

Whoa… Yes. Very cool.

I like the original or the softened one the best… the picture is the kid, and I feel like he gets lost in the edits on the last one although it IS very cool!

I love the softened one! But the last one is a bit creepy, I think I have read too many Stephen King books! The original is the best, IMHO. It’s a big world out there!

They are all really great. I am a photo shop freak. I love it and it’s really simple to use once you get the hang of it. I play with it a lot and learn new things.
The first shot is a good one, but the second is good too. I like how it was softened and some more “brownish” color added. It looks rustic, but kinda blurry. The third one is kinda over done. I love the color of the grass and the blending, but the clouds are a bit over kill. I agree with Leigh, it’s a bit creepy. But the color is way cool. It all just depends on what you want.
It’s a great photo!! And one of the most important things is to start out with a good photo.

I love how little and cute he looks in the top two. It says “lil’ cowboy.”
I agree with Leigh on the last one telling a Stephan King like story.
Neither way is better, just telling a different tale. I’d read either myself.

I love the second as an au naturale, with the 3rd being my favorite! Great pics.

I like the first one a lot, but I do like the warmer tones added to the second. The third is fun, but not as great as the other two for sure.
I love the third one– it seems dramatic and fun!
Thanks for your support on the Steak & Shake issue!
YOU BET!! I wouldn’t consider NOT supporting you and thank you for stopping by:)
I do like the second one, but it would be better to make the background a separte layer and just soften the focus on that part, rather than on the subject/child too. Great photo - love how it is framed!
