As you may have noticed from my living room, I do have a somewhat western home but if you’re like me, you can’t afford to buy those cute western end tables out of that magazine. There are some things you can do though to get the look without the cost. Buy a piece of furniture at the local store or check out Coaster furniture. It’s relatively cheap and will make for a great canvas. Decide what kind of look you want for it and do it. For example: I have a nice dining table that has 4 chairs and a bench. It’s fairly boring and more country than western. In the next weeks, I’ll be burning brands on the lip part of the table all the way around to give it that western look. I’ll also do this for the chairs to match. It’s super easy and you only need a wood burner which is pretty cheap.
Another cute idea that came from my sister-in-law, is to use hay hooks as towel hook. Ummm, hay hooks is not the correct terminology but I’m not sure what they’re called. Maybe someone can chime in with the correct word! Anyways, you could burn brands or something on the wood part of the handle or even decoupage a cute little cowboy scene on it.
I’ll be redecorating some things soon and would love to hear what you use to make your home westernfied!

I know you would but….there’s a secret I can’t share yet
Considering my husband is a farrier we’ve learned to use old horse shoes in lots of new ways. I look at the expensive stuff in western catalogues and think what a waste. I just ask him to go fire up the forge and make things like stocking holders for us all.
