Just for the record, bats carry all sorts of diseases and can give it to the horses, cattle, and even us so I don't feel too sorry for them. I realize that living on a farm/ranch might tend to harden you a little to stuff like this - and I'm not like, a PETA rep or anything, I'm just a girl who has a passion for seeing animals alive and well. I'm a certified animal care tech, and seeing these photos physically hurts me. :( I hate to sound like I'm trying to "tell" you what to do, Lori... I'm really not. I'm just asking for a little warning ahead of time, especially since this kind of thing isn't all that typical on your blog. *sniff*

I had always heard as a kid that coyotes would chew off a leg to get out of a trap. Until I saw the same sight you did, I didn't believe it.
