2 Places to Shop For Cheap Makeup of Quality
I’m a HUGE fan of Bare Escentuals but not everyone can afford it so I wanted to share my 2 favorite places to shop for cheap quality makeup! If you know of any others, feel free to tell me in the comments:)
1)AVON
Not only does Avon carry makeup, it also carries beauty products for your hair and cool insulated bags like this one to keep your cosmetics cool! How neat is that!? If you’re like me, you might even hide a stick of High School Musical Lip Balm but sshhhhh, don’t tell anyone;) They key to shopping at Avon is to wait for the specials and sales! Oh, and they still carry that Skin So Soft that really does make your skin soft but also keeps the skeeters away! In fact, they’ve even created the actual bug aerosol! Be sure to check out while you’re there:)
2)ELF COSMETICS
I LOVE Elf cosmetics because they always have the most fun products for super cheap! And I mean cheap!! You can find items for $1!!! You can’t beat a dollar folks unless you’re at a garage sale and if you are, well, apply at your own risk;) They have the cutest gloss sets with just about every color out there. This is probably my most favorite place to shop for cheap stuff. You could really put together some cool little gift sets for a friend or your niece! If you’re an aspiring makeup artist, you might want to consider a starter master set for $100. It’s LOADED with goodies! LOVE IT!
Where do YOU shop at for your makeup? Are you a name brand gal or does it matter to you?

I use to sell Avon and they have tons of great things! Since I’m a dork I’ll ask …how do you get the answers to what people search for that brings them to your blog? I do have the google thing but I don’t know what to click on to find that out. As for the comments I try to comment everyday on the blogs I read daily, but I never do the I’m first ,I’m first ..thing because to me it sounds like something kids yell when they are little!
Jenns last blog post..Happy Canada Day !
Hi Jenn,
You can use several things to see what brings people to your blog but, for a quickie, I check my feedburner stats:) I love me some feedburner!
I agree on the commenting thing, if you post a “spammy” looking comment, then it does sort of look like that but if you are a genuine reader, it’s appreciated;)
Hi Lori - I’ve been reading your site for some time….I don’t remember how I found it. Love it!
BTW - I followed the ELF link and they have an anniversary sale through 7/15: 10% off any order of $20 or more.
Thought I’d tell ya in it wasn’t posted when you put up your post. :)

I LOVE Bare Escentuals too but have the same issue-the cost. Hard to justify, especially with two young kids in tow and really no time to put on makeup nowadays LOL! On that rare occasion that we DO go out, I need something, so thanks for sharing.
Menopausal Moms last blog post..They Just Grow and Grow and Grow
I’ve never heard of Elf! Is it a website, store, or catalog? Of course, I know Avon. I shop for my foundation, mascara, and powder at the department store (Macy’s, Dillard’s). I like to make sure I use quality makeup on my skin. I am not as particular about eyeliner and eye shadow. I usually buy Maybelline at the pharmacy. Great topic!
Forgetfulones last blog post..Winner!
I like Bare Minerals I.D. for foundation/bronzer. For eye shadow I am using some Stila that a friend gave me when I was in her wedding several years ago (I just realize that it was SO long ago, I should probably toss it! :) I use Maybelline Mascara. I love Chanel glossimer lipgloss, and some other Lancome lipglosses my sister gave me for Christmas one year. So, it’s a bit of a hodge-podge for me. I would love to try some Avon. I’ve never heard of ELf, but will check it out!
