Page Loading Time, Need Input

I’ll be adding more and more videos here and, of course, I always have lots of pictures to share. With these come delayed loading time on the home page.  I know that people don’t like excerpts, but I also know that a slow loading page is just as bad.  SOOOO, I have a question for you!

Would you rather me leave it like it is, full posts on the home page regardless of how many videos or pictures slow it down OR would excerpts be okay?  Too see how the excerpts would look, check out my food blog’s home page.  It would have the thumbnail and a small excerpt.

Tell me what you think!  Vote and/or leave a comment please:)

  1. Just FYI - I asked this same question (excerpts or not) on my site about 10 days ago and the overwhelming response was NO EXCERPTS!
On the other hand, I prefer excerpts.

Aren’t I just the biggest help ever?

  2. Another option would be to have your first post be a full post and all others excerpts.

  3. I think it looks great! Gives it a very clean look and it didnt’ take long to load on my screen at all. I guess it just depends on the average users internet speed.

  4. I myself don’t like excerpts and almost never click to continue reading. I don’t mind a little longer load time for worthwhile content.

  5. I don’t like excerpts, just a personal feeling. I like to see the whole post and not click to continue reading. Maybe I’m lazy!

  6. I personally don’t like excerpts and rarely ever click to read more. I want to just click once to read a post.

  7. I agree with Courtney.
