Truett has grown so much and is exactly like Tyler, 100% cowboy. Today, he took advantage of the pretty weather by practicing shooting his BB gun. He can shoot too, never once missing the beer can.
Obviously he enjoyed the weather today….clearly thinking it was a warm day.
He also felt like tryin’ a little bareback riding. He got Sparkplug up next to the fence and jumped!
This brings back SOOO many memories for me. Tyler did the same thing when he was little except he would jump up on horse’s backs by the age of 5. Because Sparkplug has gotten so fat, Truett had a hard time keeping his legs tight enough to ride him so he decided it was time to break out the saddle.
While Dad is saddling up the “bronc”, Truett decides he better check the back feet…you know, to make sure there were no rocks or anything.
Then of course, once saddled, he had to ‘break him’. You see, he’s been watching Tyler break horses lately so he’s learning the ropes. Once he got him settled, he got on and rode for a bit. Ahhh, the life of a cowpoke.

Too cute ;) So nice to live on a ranch or farm. We don’t, but I’ve thought about how nice it might be to live on a farm.

Sparkplug has his winter coat- he looks like a Muppet! :) Your son has my dream life- I would have begged, borrowed, stole, etc to have my own horse when I was little. Then I hoped hoped hoped my son would take an interest in horses (so I could buy one and ride it myself too!) but he never did. I still want my own horse.

Wow! He’s quite a big boy now! And boy he sure looks and wears a 100% cowboy expression. Kids nowadays are not as privileged to grow with nature and embrace it. It’s all about video games and staying indoors =(
