I agree with your statement of cliques within cliques. If it’s too uncomfortable then I move on. I’m me….if you like me, great, if you don’t, well that’s your loss because I’m a great person and have lots of wonderful things to offer a friend. Forget keeping up with the Jones’, I can’t afford to and if I did have that kind of money, its probable that I wouldn’t spend it on the same things lots of people do.

Lori, you are a great woman, if someone tells you otherwise, blow them off! Many people are mean simply because they are jealous of something you have that they wish they had. It could be a material possession or even a certain part of you like your wit, charm, sense of humor, etc.

Once we learn how to accept others for who they are and that we love our friends for that reason, nothing else matters.

I totally agree, cliques are ridiculous, everyone should just get along. Unfortunately there are always going to be cliques so it is important that you have people in your life that are good people and true friends and you will always in the end see who the ones are that are your true friends and those who never truly were and that is when you can be grateful for the ones who were always there for you. This is totally one of the reasons why when people ask me if I'd go back and relive my high school years again I answer, "NO freakin' way!" There are always going to be cliques. It's a fact of life unfortunately. And while it still stings a little when it happens, I've got better things to do and more important things to worry about these days.
