Cocktail Wieners

Something easy to whip up for company or as a snack for yourself, is some good ol’ cocktail wieners!  What else is there to say eh?

* 1 (16 oz) package lil’ smokie sausages
* 1 (8 oz) jar chili sauce
* 1 (8 oz) jar grape jelly

In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the cocktail sauce and grape jelly. Mix in the lil’ smokie sausages. Cook 5 minutes, or until the sausages are hot.

TIP:  You might want to use half and half…half chili sauce and half grape jelly…..OR more lil smokies!! LOL

    I love these things. WE call them drunk wieners around here. :)

    This is what we use on meatballs, the chili sauce and jelly. Very tasty even though it sounds odd at first.

    We do these with the little smokies, a jar of apple jelly and ketchup. Very yummy! Even the kids love them!

    I have never tried it with little hot dogs, only meatballs. Very cool.

    My mom makes those, but with cocktail sauce instead of chili sauce. Yummo!!

    I use the same sauce for meatballs. Cranberry sauce and chili sauce is good too!

    We love them too!
    Our variations include using frozen meatballs (or homemade, small size) and using canned cranberry sauce. All yummy! Thanks!

    I read this last night and had to run to the all night grocery to get the ingredients! Yummmm! I had these at a potluck years ago and have wondered what the sauce was. I like food spicy so I made a batch with my homemade jalapeno jelly instead of grape. Heavenly! After reading comments I’ll try meatballs next. Thanks for sharing.

    These are some of our faves! People always look at me like I’m crazy when I tell them jelly :-) I alternate between grape, jalapeno and cactus :-) A friend of mine swears by black currant jelly. Sometimes I add cooked bacon in to the mix ;-)
