Could Nintendo Wii Be the Answer to My Weight Loss?

If you recall, I had the chance to play on the Nintendo Wii at the Blogher conference.  If you don’t recall, go have a look because there’s a fun photo of me swinging around and my hair is swishing back and forth.

I absolutely did NOT want to get on the Wii, in fact, it took about 15 “oh, come on and give it a try” before I said yes.  Why?  Really I was afraid that little thing you stand on wouldn’t hold purt near 200 pounds of woman.  The other reason is I didn’t want to look like an idiot.  They were showing off the Wii Fit.  After finally agreeing to do it, they put something sorta easy on first.  It was a balancing act.  You had to get the ball in the hole by shifting your weight around.  It was fun and aggravating when I couldn’t get the ball into the hole.  Of course, I supposedly did real well.  Or that was there way of stroking my ego.

After I won that little game, I asked for something with more work and more humiliating.  Hoola hoop was there answer.  Oh yeah, a fat girl doing the hoola hoop??  You know that is humilating!  So here we go, I’m-a-shakin’ my hips like there ain’t no tomorrow!  I’m swaying back and forth beginning to wonder if I look like I’m hoola hoopin’ or having sex?

I was cracking up the whole time and breathing hard like I just ran a 5k or something.  Well almost.  Had I ran the 5k I would be dead because there’s no way I could do that.

This go me to thinkin’, Does the Nintendo Wii Fit really get you fit?  I say HELL YEAH!  I was on that think for not even 5 minutes and my heart rate was up, I was breathing heavily, and I felt good after doing it all.   I felt like I had all this energy.

So, I’m telling YOU Nintendo….Send me a Nintendo Wii to see if I can lose weight in 6 weeks doing the Wii Fit!!!  I challenge YOU to challenge ME!  I have launched Operation Fatty to journal my weight loss.  I quit for awhile because of personal reasons but have started back and this would be awesome motivation…a fun interactive system that can get me in shape!

What do you guys think???  Do you think they’ll rise up and help me in my weight loss goal????  Do you think this fun system could be a solution to my lazy butt???  Lemme hear it!

Woohoo!

Breathing hard!

Bwuahahaha

Am I begging?  Yep, anything to help me lose weight!  Don’t like it?  Leave.  I want this thing and I know that it could help me shed a few pounds.  Heck, if the electricity goes out I still won’t have an excuse because we have generators that will keep this and me going:)  Not to mention, my kids could totally do the game too.  I mean, I think they would LOVE it!!  They had fun just looking at my photos;)

  1. Fun photos Lori! What do those things cost? I’ve heard a lot of people using them to exercise, just not sure I want to spend the money. I want to save it for new clothes when I lose more weight! Of course, this would probably help me get there too…

Sorry to hear you’re having problems with your new blog. You put so much time and effort into everything, but you’re readers will follow you wherever you end up!

  5. Dude! You and I are so alike. I was afraid to pop on the Wii at BlogHer, but I did and I loved it. Actually, I’ve wanted a Wii and Wii Fit for months — but it really is expensive. I told Nintendo I’d gladly take a free Wii and blog it to the hilt! Alas, no luck. I might have to buy myself an early Christmas present. :)

  7. I have that exercise machine(I am sorry to say that because i think Wii Fit is just a weight loss machine) at home for one reason, it is my wife, amazingly she has lost a lot of weight and I am wondered to see her progress. how much wight she has lost? She told me yesterday that she has some pain her boobies so i tried to figure out that why it is so, It is Wii Fit who reduced her belly so much that her boobies don’t stay on her belly anymore so they don’t have stay anywhere and hanging. WOOHOO! Wii Fit, You are the best.
