Countdown to Back to School – Supplies!

If you were to ask my husband what one of my most favorite things to do is, he would quickly say “shopping for back to school“.   But it’s probably not why you think.  While I love to shop for school supplies for my kids, I get ticked at scoring those prices for my own personal addiction, office supply hoarding!  Come on now, I know I’m not the only one that gets excited over those $0.17 cent spiral notebooks at Walmart (and then buys enough to last two years, repeating that every year. LOL)….

Every year Walmart comes out with some fun, cute, and/or inspirational themes in their school supplies.   Last year, as a newcomer to Faith, I fell in love with their spiritual themed notebooks and folders.  This year, we are all excited about seeing the Duck Dynasty themed school supplies because it’s HUGE around here! Even my son’s prom was themed Duck Dynasty!

One of the most popular trends you’ll see is Neon colors!  Geared more towards the girls, it’s popular in fashion and school supplies.  The Chevron designs coming out will be awesome and Monsters University, for the younger ones, will be fun.  And your older ones aren’t left out because of the Team Gear selection of NCAA themed supplies.

Don’t forget y’all, Walmart ad matches so there’s no need to be running around, wasting precious fuel.  Not only that, they have over 250 supplies that are $1 or less.  And if you’re looking to avoid the crowds, you might think about shopping online.  I love the backpack bundles.  You can even even ‘customize’ your bundle by picking which backpack, which supplies, etc and they are VERY affordable, many around the $21 mark. Like last year, your teacher can add supply lists to the Classrooms by Walmart tool.  It’s very handy for both teachers and parents.

May your kiddos have a fun school year full of knowledge!

Disclosure: I am an official Walmart Mom. Walmart has provided me with compensation and gift card in return for my time & efforts to create this post. Opinions are my own, always.

Cool about the Duck Dynasty stuff. I had never watched it, until a preacher said he liked how they actually prayed on TV before meals. So I checked it out. It’s a pretty neat show. Now I won’t lie and say I watch every single episode, but I do watch sometimes. I’m not a big TV watcher and when I do watch it tends to be older movies either via TCM channel, sometimes the Sony Movie Channel has older shows on, but often we find the free ones via Roku Amazon Prime. I personally wouldn’t have paid for Amazon Prime, but the hubs wants it, so we have it. So I take advantage of the free shows from time to time. Like that you scored with the back to school supplies, it is a good time for Mom’s to stock up their own stashes and not just the kids. So, I understand why you do it.
