Country Fried Breakfast Sandwich

Just like grandma used to make!  I’m sure we all have various ways that we make our breakfast sandwiches and I thought it would be fun to show you how we make them.  Since this involves some eggs, I encourage you to join in Christine’s Breakfast Challenge by eating an egg a day.  Lots of benefits of eating eggs so go read up on it and take the challenge.


  • 2 slices of toast
  • bacon
  • eggs


It doesn’t get much easier than this guys.  Fry up your bacon, toast your bread (I put a little butter on it) and fry your eggs.  Layer them up like in the pictures and you’re done!!  SOOOO easy and a nice alternative to the traditional bacon and eggs.

I recommend adding some cheese, perhaps even some green chilies!  YUMMY!

    That is one serious sandwich. Switch the regular bacon for Canadian, add some cheese, and use sourdough bread, and you’ve got yourself a deal. :-P

    Lori, this has been my ‘breakfast of choice’ (or lunch, or dinner) since I was a child! The eggs are cooked perfectly – just have to include plenty of napkins for those yummy, runny yolks. My only problem…no matter how many years I make them, I’ll never get them to taste exactly like my dear departed Daddy did. His were perfect, I think it may have been that special dash of love he added for his little girl!

    I use to make them all the time ,I use mayo instead of butter and sometimes I put cheese on it and lettuce if I have it..yummy! You are right they are so easy.

    This is one of our favs to do also, but, when we have so frozen eggo’s we will use those…now that our waffle addict is off at college we don’t buy them anymore! So, we are back to the 12 grain toast! We aslo will add cheese, or onions,etc. You can add anything.
    Enjoying looking at all the recipes, we must be from the same part of the country that eats like this!

    As good as it is, Heinz ketchup makes it even better, no to mention that this addition elevates this “breakfast sandwich” to a lunchtime staple.

    We just call this a bacon and egg sandwich in England, they’re probbaly the most common, most eaten sandwich in the country! Except we don’t toast the bread, makes it easier to cram the bacon and egg down your neck even faster :p
