Who doesn’t love their Crock-Pot slow cooker right? If you haven’t figured out how to use that appliance to make your life easier, then you need to learn! I asked around for some recipes and while there were a ton of recommendations, there was one that stood out from our very own Superintendent’s wife, Cyree! (Thank you Cyree for sharing!) I don’t have a name for it but it’s a complete meal all-in-one!
This slow cooker used came in really handy for this particular recipe. The Crock-Pot Cook & Carry allows you to cook your food, and literally carry it to wherever you need it. It features clasps on the sides for a good seal so that nothing can spill. It came in handy for me ’cause had I not had those clasps to securely shut the lid, there would have been too much of a gap with the three layers I added to the crock-pot.
I started off by cutting up some taters and wrapping them in foil. I then placed some corn on the cob into some foil and folded it up. I put a little butter in both of those by the way. Cyree uses pork chops in her recipe but since I don’t have pork chops, and rarely buy them, I used beef stew meat. I put the meat at the bottom, covered with a bunch of mushrooms, topped by a can of cream of mushroom soup. I then placed the taters in on top of all that, followed by the corn on the cob. Cover and cook.
VIOLA! You have a complete meal in one pot! Now my corn was a little over done but it’s because we did not come straight home from church like originally planned. It was still all delicious and super easy to cook! How awesome would it have been if I had wanted to take this somewhere? There would have been no worries about anything spilling and I’d have taken so much food. Love this crock-pot!!
