My grandmother used to embroider when I was a child. I don't embroider, but I do cross-stitch. I love crafts and the arts. My daughter also acquired a love for the arts when I exposed her. I think your niece will thank for this new found love, it will stay with her forever. One of those places that glaze everything for you and it's all shiny and pretty when you're done. Since then, whenever she needs to give a gift she wants to go paint something for someone...she gets that "give a piece of yourself" thing even at 7.
