Damned if You Do, Damned if You Don’t

I have received numerous emails asking me what I think about the PR Blackout, the “mommy blogger” dramasodes, etc. To be quite honest, I ignore these emails because frankly, it’s NONE of my business. What people do with their blog is their own business, not mine but here is all I’m gonna say about it.

It’s so childish, all of it, and I don’t want to have anything to do with folks talking ugly towards me or others. I surround myself with people who love me and support me and have no time in my life to worry about that nonsense. You should too. I have learned online and off, that it’s best to worry about yourself and your family. Nothing else matters.

You’ll never win because there will always be someone who has nothing better to do that criticize others. You’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

Be yourself, be authentic, and don’t let anyone make you feel like you or your blog should be something else. Write what you want, Read what you want.

  1. Well said! Thank you!

  2. Great post. Well said. When it comes to reading blogs, just like in life, we all have different tastes, thus there is plenty of room for all different kinds of blogs. Whether you are a diaryist or expert in product reviewss, hot deals or coupons, the websites that are genuine, helpful, or resourceful will succeed. There are people and readers that want news and opinions on commercial content and those that prefer to read the entertainment of a blogger who records their thoughts, feelings, and experience with Motherhood. To each is own. Just my opinion.

  3. See, we are long lost sisters cause I just wrote the same darn thing! People need to get over themselves, quoting others…why give it the energy ya know!

  20. Lori,

I’ve always admired you – well said. I actually have no idea what you’re talking about in terms of the PR blackout but the mom blog drama sure is there. I’m doing like you – sticking to those that make me feel good and add to my life not take away from.

I still do need to call you but seeing that I’ll see you in Chicago soon I’ll chat then. Can’t wait to meet you.
