Dining and Wine-ing

HA! Get it?

We have some good friends who happen to be on the wealthier side, that order their wine from another country.  I think that’s great.  I’ve tasted some of the wine they’ve ordered and it’s wonderful but for folks like us, this is a bit too expensive.  Now, because I live so far from town, I do most of my shopping online.  Wine is the one thing that I have never bought online but am considering here lately.  I’m sure you’ve seen those wine clubs before and thought about it too.  After browsing this one particular site, I definitely think I may give it a go.    I was quite surprised to see what was offered.  Afterall, who knows if you are going to get a good bottle of wine, right?  But then I read that this wine is award winning.  You know it’s gotta be good and after browsing through a few of the wines they offer, I’m in agreement that they are award winning because I have sampled 2 of them.  So I’m thinking great, “GREAT!! I’ve found a place to order some wine!” and then I realize, they have soooo much more to offer.  You’ll find everything from gift giving to how to store your wine.  I was truly impressed with the website and will be recommending it to my friends.  Wouldn’t it funny if they quit ordering from afar and joined the club?!  I’ll keep you updated on that:)

By the way, I’m the wine drinker–not my husband.  I don’t know any cowboys that drink wine.  The closes thing to a cowboy that drinks wine around here, is the boss man that hired him!

  1. Hey, I’ve got a cowboy that likes wine! We don’t drink it a lot ( maybe a couple times a month, more when we have company) and I am a light weight when it comes to wine ~ I can only drink a glass and it takes me all night ~ but we love it! We are red wine drinkers.

Did a wine of the month club thing for the owners last year for Christmas. It was fun packaging every bottle in a unique way. Wish I had taken pictures.

One of the things they gave us for Christmas this year was a huge wine basket from the Napa Valley ~ very cool!

Last year we made a neat 18 x 18″ tray with wine corks and I have a really cool plate that has wine labels on it that my mom and a friend made.

I’ll have to check out this site!

  2. I drink a glass of local wine almost everyday. it was a new years resolution from a couple of years ago. I used to be the closest thing that the East Coast has to being a cowboy. I was a boy looking after cows at least <):)

Actually, we made cherry wine and blueberry wine on the farm a few times.
