What inspires you? For me, it’s watching a movie and learning a lesson, it’s happy endings & over-achievers, the quiet-still nights and watching people live their lives.
The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.
W. M. Lewis
Everyone is so busy working and complaining that they forget to live, and enjoy it. I think everyone gets caught up in the merry-go-round of nowhere but it’s deciding to get off that merry-go-round that will bring you new life. For some reason though, getting off is so hard to do isn’t it? You have this established routine set that you created yourself; a routine of comfort and convenience but almost hate. And anything you dare to dream that doesn’t fit into that equation takes that comfort away doesn’t it? So do you keep living life doing the same thing, at the same time, in the same place……or do you live life trying a new thing, at a new time, in a new place?
It’s so easy to follow in someone’s footsteps. It’s so easy to follow a routine. Why is it so hard to follow your heart?
Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
Abraham Lincoln
While your surroundings play a role in happiness, it’s ultimately your decision to be happy. After all, you only have one life to live. What inspires me, makes me happy. I choose to embrace the small changes and be inspired. That makes me happy.
What makes you happy? What inspires you? Will you stay on that merry-go-round, or will you choose to live?
The Wife of a Dairyman says
My kids, husband, family and friends make me happy. I’m so thankful that I live the life I live :)

I’m doing a lot more living now that I’m in my 40’s than I ever did in my 20’s and 30’s. School starts next week and my son will be off to high school. Wasn’t he just in kindergarten a minute ago? I am learning to find my joy living in the present. I spent too much of my youth either yearning for the past or wishing for “someday”. Today is my someday, I might as well work hard, do my best, and have a little fun :)
Appreciating what I have- not what I wish I had- is what makes me happy today.
