I mentioned the Affiliate Ninja Plugin at Blissdom when I spoke on the Affiliate Marketing Panel and I’m telling you about it today because it’s on sale. If you don’t know what it is, it’s a wordpress plugin that would automatically insert affiliate links on your posts and so much more.
FOR THE READER
Now some folks have different opinions on link cloaking and I’m more than happy to share mine. I don’t do it to be sneaky. I do it for two main reasons. 1) Because it eases the readers mind as to where they are clicking through to. When a reader sees this:

Do you really think they want to click through?? For all they know, that’s some spammy link that leads to who knows where. Having a trustworthy relationship is top priority for me so I want my readers to know that even though I do use affiliates links, they are being taken to exactly what I’m referring to in the post. They can trust that it’s a valid site because that affiliate link will show where they are going.
and 2) it keeps affiliate thieves from taking my links and commission.
FOR THE BLOGGER
This plugin takes keywords and turns them into affiliate links. Pawan did a lot more with the Affiliate Ninja Plugin. He included all sorts of advanced features:
- * Affiliate links management: you can name the affiliate links, put them in groups, sort and so on.
- * Link Redirects: The plugin comes with a redirection system to protect your links.
- * Cloaking: Some marketers like to cloak their affiliate links to improve conversions, and the plugin fully supports this.
- * Link customization: You can also customize the text that will appear on the status bar of the browser when people hover on the link.
- * Keyword management: You can select what keywords you want to transform into affiliate links, and you can limit the number of keywords per post to avoid making them look spammy.
You can do all this from your WP dashboard.
Let’s say that there is a back to school promotion that will only be valid for a month or so. You write all these posts, connecting a certain keyword to that promotion. Instead of having to go through your posts and change or remove the link, you can simply delete or change the affiliate url to another and it automatically will change the url in all they keywords.
There is also an SEO use for the plugin. Suppose you have an article that is ranking well for the term “video games.” You could make the plugin turn all the “video games” keywords on all your posts into a link to that post. Given the anchor text, this simple tweak could increase your search rankings for that post. All from your dashboard!

There really are a ton of uses for it and being able to manage it all from one place is just one thing that makes it great. It’s super powerful and, in my opinion, the best out there. When you buy the plugin, you are also getting access to a forum just for the plugin so that if you run into any problems (and I haven’t) or have suggestions, you can ask and share.
The Affiliate Ninja plugin is on sale until the 21st of August. It rarely goes on sale and I highly encourage you to purchase through the sale price because otherwise it will be priced at $97.
Since I’ve started using a link cloaker back in the day, my click thru ration has increased dramatically, therefore bringing in more commission. Highly recommended if you use affiliate links.

Thanks! I have been trying to figure out a good way to do affiliate links now that Amazon has shut down us North Carolinians. I think this may help a LOT!

Hi Lori,
First, I love the blog. Recently I’ve been looking for more affiliate cloaking solutions and this is the first post on your blog that I’ve found. (Also, those headshots in a more recent post were pretty funny.)
And this is an older post, BUT, I have read quite a number of people recommending Affiliate Ninja.
I’ve been using one called “Redirection” which works well to cloak links, make sure you are branding yourself at all times and lets you see how many times the link has been visited.
BUT, it definitely does not have the capabilities you are showing. AND it doesn’t have the ability to automatically link posts together via keywords. I really like this because, as a blog grows I’m sure it’s a pain trying to dust off old posts and link back to them.
Anyway, useful information and Affiliate Ninja is definitely on my list of things to try. Thanks!
Vince
