Yep, I went and did it, got de-virginized in NYC by drinking my first Starbucks Coffee that is. I went with Pumpkin Spice that came highly recommended from Tara, who also said it’s a seasonal coffee.
I have to say, I LOVED it. For those of you who don’t know, not only had I not had Starbucks, I’ve never drank coffee period so this was a treat! The sad part is, there’s not a Starbucks around here for 70 miles:( But, when I do go again, and I will go again, I am going to try the Caramel Macchiatos. I first heard them from my mom today and then Tara said that’s her other favorite so I’m definitely going to try it!
Since it was such a momentous occasion, Katja was snapping pictures of me with my first Starbucks Coffee. Yep, it was a historic event in A Cowboy’s Wife life.

I would love to hear what YOUR favorite is at Starbucks! Please share:)

Well, I’m a pro so I feel I have to share. I also like to have variety from Starbucks and today I tried one of the new tea lattes. I got vanilla, it seemed safe. No! I did not like this at all.
White chocolate mocha is the best by far. Hot or cold. One barrista suggested I get a shot of vanilla in it and I did. That’s awesome too, but I try not to make a habit of it. The best thing about Starbucks is that they do seasonal drinks which are pretty awesome!
Glad you got de-virginized!

Oh, the White Chocolate Mochas are good too! But the Pumpkin Spice Latte is forever number one in my heart. I know it won’t be long until they tell me they’re out of the syrup until next September, and then I’ll shed a little tear and enjoy my Caramel Macchiatos until then.

Sooo I used to think coffee was nasty and evil but now I’m starting to have a liking for it. So here are my faves.
1. Peppermint Hot Chocolate
2. Mocha Frappuchino (Like a chocolate/coffee icy milkshake thing)
3. Iced Mocha Latte (for when its warm out and you dont want the icy)
4. Mocha Latte (same as above but good for cold weather if ya dont want hot chocolate)
You see the varying trend here is mocha…gotta have the mocha or the coffee doesnt touch my taste buds!
That looks like the starbucks at 45th and broadway. :) But I’m sure a lot of them look the same. I’m always in NYC, so I’m sure I’ve been to almost every starbucks! i loved the eggnog latte

Lori,
You definitely need to try something called a “White Rabbit.” I didn’t even know they existed until a nice little barista in Arizona made one up for me. It’s a white chocolate mocha with a few pumps of raspberry syrup in it. It’s delish iced…not sure about hot though.

ok as a non coffee drinker… i love love love the peppermint hot chocolate in the winter…and their milk shakes aren’t so bad either in the warmer months. :-D my roommates were obsessed so I was drug into many Starbucks.
Yay for you! I am a confessed “Buckaholic” as my father-in-law calls me! Yes, I freely admit I am addicted to my Grande Mocha Frappacinos!!! I get one 2-3 times a week and try to limit myself to that amount!!! You should try one when you have the chance. They are fabulous!!!
By far the Chai Tea Latte – its like drinking a pumpkin pie with whipped cream – truly fabulous!!!!!
Enjoy!
Melissa
Oh, I LOVE pumpkin spice. I am an avid three to four cup of coffee drinker a day so sometimes just a house coffee works well for me. I do like a vanilla latte skim. A latte has more milk with the espresso so if you aren’t a coffee drinker you probably will like latte’s. Capp.’s they’re much stronger. Do a shot of espresso and you’ll get lots done!

Caramel Macchiatos are my favorite, however, coffee doesn’t agree with my stomach anymore. I love their hot chocolate when it’s cold outside (and the peppermint is delish), and their cream frappuchinos when it’s hot weather.

Congrats on your first Starbucks! I’m not really a coffee person but I love their chai tea latte. Yummy!

caramel frappuciuno (sp?) is the best!! I get the macchiato is pretty much the same, just hot, never tried that though..
caramel frapp with whipped cream and caramel drizzled on top..MMMmmmm
I like coffee, but my recent sore throat has introduced me to the Sweet Wild Orange Tazo Tea. very nice option and it smells fabulous. plus, you can snag a box of the teabags and recreate the FiveBucks illusion at home.
FYI – You look so beautiful!

I’m not a coffee drinker but I occasionally end up at Starbucks with friends or family. I don’t mind their chai tea, but I usually just end up with their hot chocolate. And they have new “gourmet” type hot chocolates now, that are sort of tasty.
Their Chai Tea latte is my absolute favorite. I’m not a coffee drinker, either, but I do like a skinny (skim milk) latte with sugar-free vanilla AND sugar-free caramel syrup.
so you like the star bucks hay well thay dont have one by you but well some times to get starbucks i well drint there ice coffie thay got in most stores but when i do get to go to sarbucks and theres a lot of them here in wi i well go with some thing with mint cholate and also theres this other place thats called careabue coffie thay too have some pretty grate things as well to drink
Oh my gosh – you have NEVER had Starbucks!!! Well, do try a mocha – and make sure they stir it or else all the espresso sits at the bottom and when you get to the bottom it hits you and you’re all like “Whoa – where did that come from!”

Those Peppermint Mocha Frap’s are delish! Love the hot Caramel Apple Cider. Also, the Caramel Frap’s w/whipped cream and Caramel drizzled on the top is yummy!! ;)
Nom nom nom. I’m a Nonfat Chai Tea Latte drinker in the summer, a Chai Tea Frappucino drinker in the winter. I love my Chai, it seems. Oh, and I would knock a little old lady down a flight of stairs to get my hands on a piece of their iced lemon pound cake.
Giggle – it should have been the opposite drinks for the seasons above. Apparently I haven’t had enough Chai yet today.

I love Starbucks! Mostly for their Venti sized coffee cups. I love the Cappuccino and Chai. It seems that Chai is popular all around.

I’ve had Starbuck’s coffee once (it doesn’t count) but it was my fault for ordering plain coffee. I didn’t know what I was ordering so I just got coffee, lol. Love your makeup!

Wow! That really is an “interesting factoid” about you. Starbucks is such a cultural phenomenon. How did you manage to “avoid it” for so long?
I’m not much of a coffee drinker, but I do love Starbucks’ Caramel Apple Cider. It’s delicious…no one quite makes it like they do.

Mmmmm. Starbucks. Now I need a latte. My fave is the Peppermint Mocha Latte with piles of whip cream and red sprinkles. Delicious. So glad that you got a taste of Starbucks.

I think their daily blends are always great and I can walk to a Starbucks, so I feel lucky. I don’t think it unusual that you were also a coffee virgin…I was a coffee virgin until age 30 myself.
I *HEART* their chai. I LOVE IT. They have a better level of spiciness than anyone else, in my opinion.

I’m a coffee drinker! Mine ultimate favorite is the Low Fat Caramel Macchiato! It’s sweet enough you don’t have to add sugar or cream but I love Cappuccino and Latte’s with mocha, caramel, vanilla, even raspberry syrups. Of course they all need to be topped off with a hit of fresh whipped cream!

Was a “bucks” virgin myself till last summer. I’m pretty plain because I just like sf almond syrup and 3 splenda’s. Try out http://www.hungrygirl.com if you’d like to make lo-cal versions of your favorite Starbucks drinks. I don’t work for her, just LOVE her site.

Starbucks is more like a tradition to me.We live in a small town in TN so we don’t have a starbucks close. We do however live close to the TN/ALA line so every Christmas (except last due to being broke) we go to Super Target Christmas shopping and as we walk in the door we stop at their Starbucks and grab ,a tall Caramel Macchiato for me and dh changes everytime, to sip while we shop. Also last vacation to Disney World we stopped a couple of times trying to wake us up as we drove the 15 hours :(.
