Operation Fatty #1 The Beginning

This is my first entry into my video diary about my weightloss journey.  I encourage you to join me and create your own diary whether it be by video or just by writing.  Something I failed to mention in the video, is that I’ll be writing down my calories and what I eat for each day.  I think this will let me see just exactly what I’m consuming.

And here is the video!

Measurements are as followed:

Bust-44
Waist-43
Hips-50
Thigh-25
Weight-197

  2. hey, lori-

i enjoyed your video. it is quite embarrassing to mention the weight so publicly, isn’t it? i keep my weight loss progress on one of my other blogs http://life-w-hashi.blogspot.com which is my struggles with hypothyroidism. weight is a major struggle for those in the same boat as me. i did manage to lose 7 lbs (avg of 1/2 lb a wk which is really fantastic for those w thyroid issues, but normal people can lose 5 lbs or more in a wk! so you can understand my frustration! LOL) i’ll be checking in w your progress. i know you can do it. i’ve seen hip hop abs on tv and it does look kinda fun…so i may check into that.

I have a friend who has the same problem. She’s been having a lot of trouble with it lately and then she just found out she’s pregnant to boot! Prayers all around:)

  4. Lori!!!!!!!

*holding my cheerleading pom poms in the air*

    I am rooting for you!!!!

We love and support you. You can do it.

p.s. did the phone ring???? i know you were done after that :)

  5. Hi Lori,
That takes guts to put up your measurements. Look forward to my own sort of fat reduction journey. I’ve been thinking of doing it for a while and I really do have to do something about weight because of my Type 2 diabetes. I’m not huge or anything. I’ve always carried a little bit extra. I’m about 242 or so and need to drop at leave to 195. It is still not ideal for me but would be good. Anyway, I will most likely chronicle that on my blog Google is not God because I will be updating it via my cell phone.

    Good luck to you.

  7. Well Drew, I’ve got plenty of gut that’s for sure!…LOL. Man, I crack myself up:)

I’m doing it for health reasons as well. I’m glad you stopped by, I’ll be by to check on you;)

  8. lori – my sweet, sweet lady! let me tell you that my husband and i are both doing 6 Week Body. Diet/Exercise and adding some great vitamins to our daily routine…I’ll send you a sample of the vitamins if you email me your address.

point being (and I do have one around here somewhere!) is that we took measurements & what an ego buster! i’m rooting for you and i know that if anyone can set her mind to something and achieve it, that person IS YOU!

  9. Hey, good luck chica! It’s fun to see a video of you, you sound so friendly (and no Texan accent as far as I can tell… by that I mean I actually understand you!) and so honest. Phew, takes some gut to say the weight… which isn’t that bad honey! I wonder how tall you are… I mean, plays a role as well.

I’m lost for the measurement, I only do centimeters… and in centimeters, you’re tiny!

Good luck again! We all have some weight to lose… just don’t focus too much on the number, you will prob. gain some muscle on the way and muscle weight more than fat – or so I keep on telling myself!

  10. Oh Laren, I find it hard to believe that YOU need to lose weight! Are you doing a toning thing? Thank you for you support. It means a lot to me!

I’ll email you with my address;)

  11. I’m not friendly;) I can be down right mean! And I ain’t got no Texan accent dahlin’…LOL

I am 5′5. I forgot to put that in there. Thank you for supporting me and stopping by.

  12. Lori,I can’t say enough about how much I admire you! Thank you for taking the time to make and share this video. I think you are way cool and an inspiration to me as well as others. I’ll be chugging along with you on this journey and cheering you on.

It’s hard to change the way you eat when you feed cowboys. They love their bread and desserts! I think it would be so much easier if someone would just put what I SHOULD eat in front of me for every meal.

  13. Awwww shucks Karin, I appreciate those kind words:)

It’s definitely harder when you’re feeding cowboys, I agree 100%.

I think what I’m doing will not only help me, it will help my family be more healthy.

I appreciate your support! I NEED it:)

  14. Fan-fecking-tastic, that’s exactly the right attitude. It’s good that you’re embarrassed about your weight (even though by comparison you’re just cuddly) because this is an indicator that you won’t be getting any bigger. I’ve always kept my weight to 15 stone, because I know if I go any further I might aswell toss my life in the bin.

Let me tell you what I believe the most important thing is here. You’ve accepted that you’re a fatty and realised you so desperately need to do something about your weight and right now!

The awesome news for you is that it’s not even close to too late. You’re in real good solid position here and you can change your life. I don’t personally feel it’s about living longer, it’s all about the quality of the life you are given.

I shall be checking in with you toots, just focus on the end goal, nothing else matters.

    All the very best,

    RS.

  15. Thanks RS! It’s nice to see honesty and encouragement straight up. I have accepted it and am, more than ever, ready to do something about it!

    Thank you for stopping by:)

  16. Oh, you are just too cute.

I’m about 20 pounds heavier than you are, so I need to get myself in gear, too. I’ve cut out pop, my morning iced coffee, and I finally bought a new iPod attachment to track my mileage when I walk.

At this point, I’m just really frustrated with myself because I used to be VERY active, and about two years ago I lost 60 pounds, but I’ve gained it all back and now I have about a dozen outfits that fit, which doesn’t really fly when you work full-time and clients constantly see you wearing the same thing!

Anyway, good luck, and I’ll be stopping by to keep up with your new endeavor!

  17. Awesome video! I am so proud of you. I can’t take diet pills because of my anxiety issues, but I do take a colon cleanser which helps (when I take it). I know you can do this!

  19. Takes some guts to let everyone know your measurements and weight. Heck I have know Idea how much I weight, let alone my measurements. But I have been working on the weight loss also. I do know the last time I went to the Doc I weighed 282 thanks to depot. Besides getting off depot I recently stopped drinking coke. I use to drink at least 6 cans a day. Thanks to free vending machines at work. I have been told what ever I’m doing is working and that I have lost allot. Heh I still have no idea how much I weight but I do know I have gone down 3 belt notches. Now if only I could convince myself to start exercising. Been meaning to start talking the dog out walking to work my way to running. but the weathers been so crappy. I know I know not a good excuse. So in spit of your post I think maybe a challenge could be created out of this that may also help encourage us who are on the mission to better our selfs. Not sure what yet but just an idea.

Oh and I wish you luck on your journey.

  20. A challenge??……..That’s a good idea! I’ll have to think on it.

I’m glad to hear your losing weight and quit the cokes. I think soda can make a big difference. I have some other methods I may implement but I’m gonna wait and see.

I appreciate you stopping by! Good luck yourself;)

  21. I’ll be sure to mention the blogroll Leigh!! The more support we all have the better:)

  22. Lori…I don’t know you but I’m so stinkin’ proud of you!! Don’t you cry over your weight number…cause you’ll be beamin’ in a couple of months when you see how much you’ve lost.

I think it’s a wonderful idea to have this accountability procedure. I did an accountability blogging diet in the summer of ‘07 and it worked. I lost weight, but then the blog went defunt and the weight came back.

So I’m doing this with you!
