I’m hoping that Truett did not inherit my “thumb of death“, and instead, got his dad’s green thumb. We have never planted seeds before but Truett was excited at the chance, especially when he found out they were watermelon seeds! Seeds of Change sent us several packages of seeds; okra, squash, tomatoes and this fun Organic Watermelon Garden Starter Kit for kids. I currently have some of those seeds growing as I type this and will share that later.
Here is little man planting his first seeds. I’m a terrible camera person. Where’s a tripod when you need one?
Do you plant seeds? And do you get your kiddos involved? I’d love to hear about it and any tips you might have for us!

This program will be announced on 4/24/12 at the spring opening of the Edible Gardens at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. Seeds of Change will be hosting a hands-on gardening event with Edible Gardens founder & master gardener Jeanne Pinsof Nolan and children from a local elementary school.
