Kudos to T-Mobile for incorporating a family allowance into their cell phone plans. How many times have you or your child gone over their minutes & texts and cringed with fear when opening your cell phone bill?
I’ll never forget the first time Tyler got his first cell phone and we got the first bill. Oh.my.gosh. I about died. $800. I’m pretty for sure I cried and my husband couldn’t even speak.
If you don’t want to feel this same pain, you MUST check out T-Mobile’s Family Allowance feature. Why didn’t this get thought of before!! Basically, it lets you set up limits for minutes, texts, downloads and more so that you or your kids don’t go over. Once you learn how many minutes, texts, etc that you are allowed, you’ll learn to budget accordingly for the coming months. It’s a great way to save money and NOT spend all day on the cell phone. Once you have reached your allowance, the service is temporarily disabled. The Always AllowedSMNumbers will still work though.
MOM to MOM QUIZ (FUN!)
Take the Mom to Mom quiz with me! It’s a few short questions about your personality and decision making that will determine your parenting style. Once you’re done taking the quiz, a badge with your parenting style will be generated with a few other text tidbits. Should you choose to do so, you’ll be able to upload your own images to create a more personalized badge that you’ll also have the chance to share via social networks and email.
I took the quiz and laughed at almost every question. Some of the choices cracked me up and are SOOO me! After taking the quiz, I have been determined to be a Quick Wit! A Quick Wit parenting style is:
Raising kids, especially teens require a sense of humor. You respond to you teens antics with intelligent wit and banter while letting them know you love em’, but they’ll have to get up a lot earlier in the morning to sneak something past you.

My parenting style is “Terrific Teach”… how appropriate!
No wonder my kids are nuts… tie between Sgt. Strict and Free to be… with a little Quick Wit just to keep it crazy.

I love this quiz! So fun. Of course a little hard to imagine my 3 year old and 1 year on the cell phone but I bet in another 3 years they both will be! I was a Terrific Teach and the description sounded a lot like me or what I think my parenting style is and will continue to be. Love it. Thanks for sharing.

Quick Wit….ha…who would have guessed??!! “My sense of humor is the only thing that keeps me grounded!!” When I read the question about your son being embarrassed to be picked up….I had to laugh remembering a story I was told by a very funny warrior of three many years ago….he said he was driving an old beat up bug at the time and his youngest daughter would always ask him to drop/pick her up a block from the high school…. He said he made a special point every day to get there early so he could have the best spot right out front so he could honk (his baauuuga horn none the less) and flail his arms and yell when she walked out…I have enjoyed countless laughs over this and other stories told through his daughters eyes many years later.

The underlying model developed by our team of psychologists reveals an underlying complexity far richer than just ‘strict’ or ‘relaxed’ classifications.
And what’s particularly interesting is that you can take the test for a spouse and see where potential conflicts might lie and get advice on how to deal w/them. You can also compare results to your friends’.
I made the Quick Wit style as well. My kids can attest to that now that they are in their late 20′s and one has a child of her own
Wow, I’m Sgt. Strict! That is definitely true in some aspects of parenting. I’d say I’m a softie, though, in other aspects.
I wasn’t sure how to answer a couple because that situation couldn’t happen here so in the end I was Sgt Strict.

I was a “Terrific Teach”. It’s true! I’m always trying to find the lesson in every situation, even for myself. My poor son is only 2 but will probably hate me by the time he’s a teenager. Fun quiz, thanks for sharing!
