Did you know that Truett learned many of his letters because of Leapfrog’s Text and Learn? Well he did. He loves that thing and in fact, he loves all of the Leapfrog products like this new Leapfrog Leapster Explorer. That is why I’m proud to be a Leapfrog Ambassador. I love seeing him enjoying something that’s actually teaching him stuff. He passed the refrigerator letters one to a younger kiddo than him but that was his favorite for a long time. Anyways, Leapfrog sent us a HOT NEW product that won’t hit store shelves until July 15 or after. I mentioned the name already; the Leapfrog Leapster Explorer and Truett LOVE LOVE LOVES it! I think one of the reasons is because it’s touchscreen so he feels all grownup..sorta like his brothers playing their DS’s and all. Clearly he’s too young for one of those so this has been absolutely perfect for him! When we first opened it up, all I had to show him was how to turn it on, how to get started and that he can use the Stylus pen or his finger. He literally has played it for hours, even skipped a pony ride because of it which is a huge shocker. We have had to take it away from him because he was wanting to play it nonstop. I found him in his room making noises after 10pm one night and guess what he was doing? Yep, he was playing that game! Little stinker had sneaked it to bed with him.

Truett loves the Toy Story and his favorite is Spelling Mode where you have to match the letters on the shelves using a crane like thing. That has helped his letter skills and keeps is fresh on his mind. He also enjoys the train tracks a great deal. He’s having to think and use a bit of strategy to figure out how to lay those tracks so that the train gets from one station to the next. The funny thing is that my husband loves this one equally as much! It’s a cute sight to see him playing it and Truett saying, “Gah Dad, it’s MY turn” heehee

Once I showed Truett how to turn it on, get started, and how to use the pen, he was a pro in no time. He easily found the games and figured out to play them and if there was a game that stumped him, he would ask for help and then it was no problem for him. So far the games are full of variety; fun, thinking, and educational games. We haven’t really found one that we don’t like yet and I doubt we will. We are extremely happy with the Leapster Explorer and it’s something that is permanently attached to Truett’s hip now. He goes nowhere without it.

I only have ONE critisizm and that is wishing that the Stylus pen holder was on the right side instead of the left. Because the vast majority of people are right-handed, it’s kind of awkward reaching over to the left side to place the pen in its’ holder. Other than that, it’s a perfect product for your child to own!

I can’t thank LeapFrog enough for sending us the unit for us to review. It’s been a blast and I know Truett thanks you too!I tried to get video but Truett was not having it. Talk about toddler attitude..geesh!

And LeapFrog made me Ambassador! I was so excited when LeapFrog asked me to be ambassador of their Summer Reading Program! As Ambassador, I would be given the LeapFrog Tag Reading Systems to my local libraries, including some extra Tag Kits to handout to families! (That’s another post, this one’s about the library;)

I chose to give the Tag Reading Systems to my boy’s school library, Highland ISD, and to my local hometown library, County-City Library of Nolan County. When I called up Becky, the librarian, she was more than excited to receive these and was already spinning ideas around on how they would implement the systems into their library.

In order for my local library to get the entire book collection, I had to make a video with the librarian! Becky, while a little shy, was more than happy to do this in order for the kids to get the entire book system! And me?? Well, you know I don’t like to see myself like that but totally worth it for the kiddos!

LeapFrog’s goal with this program is to encourage reading and make it more fun so that the children want to learn. I was able to handout the Tag and the Tag Junior Reading Systems and I know that your children will love them. Little man LOVES his!

Thank you Becky for letting me and LeapFrog into your library and the local community! And thank you to LeapFrog for bringing such an awesome reading system to our kiddos!

Enjoy the video!

My little man loves to learn new things as most little ones do so when we had the chance to play around with some LeapFrog products, I was very excited. Some twitter gals were talking about LeapFrog this morning and it reminded me that I had these videos of my little guy playing with them. Over the next week or so, I’ll share three other LeapFrog toys with you that would make for a great gift idea!

Today though is all about the LeapFrog Learn and Groove Radio, geared towards 12mths to 3yr olds.

You can flip through the pages and by each picture, is a button that the child can push that will say what the picture is and the sound it makes or a song to go with it. What I love though, is that you can switch between English and Spanish. You’ll see in the video that little man presses the apple button and tries to say it in Spanish, then English, then Spanish again. So he says Manzana, Apple, Manzana. He had a blast and I litteraly have several videos of him playing with this particular.

I recommend this as he is still playing with this LeapFrog Learn & Groove toy!!! This video was taken a few months ago way before he was two and he’s still lovin’ it! Enjoy!
