I have been patiently waiting for the Nook, an eBook reader from Barnes & Noble and can’t thank them enough for asking me to join in their webinars to learn more about the Nook and for sending me a Nook.

The Nook arrives in a hard plastic case. The sleek device is nice to hold and pretty to look at. Setup was easy enough and within minutes, I was downloading my first eBook. One of the reasons I don’t read as much as I’d like to is because I hate carrying books around. They are big and bulky. Time, of course, is always an issue but I’d be more likely to read if it’s on something as sleek as the Nook. I’m also just a little geeky. I love technology and having a digital device to read on makes me smile. I packed it my purse and took it with me to NYC and it was a great feeling to just whip it out and read a few pages. The fact that it took up literally no room in my purse is a huge bonus for me. If you could see how much crap I stuff in my purse, you’d understand how thankful I am for something the of this size.

Okay, I feel like I’m rambling a bit. How about a couple of photos of it.

Some key points of the Nook to know:

Nook is the first-ever color touch screen eBook reader device.

With 2GB of memory, you can store 1500 eBooks.

6 books you get for free when you download Barnes & Noble’s free eReader software are The Last of the Mohicans, Sense and Sensibility, Dracula, Pride and Prejudice, Little Women, Merriam-Webster’s Pocket Dictionary.

I encourage you to visit the Nook website to learn more about it and its’ features.

One lucky winner will get their very own Nook thanks to Barnes & Noble, valued at $259.

TO ENTER

Barnes & Noble has recently partnered with designers like Kate Spade, Jack Spade and Jonathan Adler to help users read in style. Of these nook cover options, submit a comment below letting me know your favorite designer cover. At the end of the giveaway I will randomly select one lucky reader to receive their very own nook! Designer covers here.

Giveaway ends on March 20th. Read more about giveaway rules and how I work them.

Disclosure: As mentioned above, I was sent a Nook. This does not sway my opinions at all. I happen to really appreciate Barnes & Noble and had been waiting a while for them to launch the Nook. Hope you enjoy as much I as I do!
