BIGFOOT

Up first, is one of the hottest out there, BigFoot.  He’s big, he’s funny, and he is athletic!  My son absolutely loves him. The remote is in the shape of a footprint with very large buttons that have pictures on them of what BigFoot does.  That makes is super easy for the kids to use.  He’s geared towards kiddos in the ages of 3-6 and is full of personality!

DANCE STAR MICKEY

We all love Mickey right? Add a dancing Mickey to the mix and you’ll have little ones giggling and dancing right with him.  Geared towards 18mths – 6 years, he’s plush, happy, and has the moves!  He plays a different song for each move. He talks, walks, and of course dances.  He’s just the thing to make your child’s eyes light up!!

This spy net watch is super cool and geared towards some older kids (finally). It’s hard to find gifts for the older ones that aren’t just games. It’s not to see some creativity.  Here are just some of what it does. I’ve seen in this in action and it’s pretty dang cool. I highly recommend!!

PLAY-DOH MEGA FUN FACTORY PLAY SPACE

Truett LOVES play-doh.  He can sit there for HOURS creating different things and this new factory place space, he’ll be there for days more than likely.  What I like about play-doh is how it brings out the creativity in a child’s brain.  And once they realize they can make something cool, they just keep imagining even cooler things to create and do their version of it.  I really really do love play-doh. It’s fun for the younger crowd yes but I know that me and my husband have set there forever playing and creating things with Truett and play-doh.

First let me say that I was overwhelmed with all the gift ideas I received this year which makes it extremely hard to narrow it down to just a few but I did get it done.  I chose items based on uniqueness, functionality, style, and practicality.  I think with the economy like it is, most people are looking for items they can use to get the most bang for their buck.

The 2009 Gift Guide is up but needs some tweaking so bare with me please.  I’ll be adding products to the gift guide every day so keep checking it out. There will still  be a few featured here over the next couple of weeks as well.

I have a terrible memory but I truly don’t recall ever having a swing set or even a little swing for that matter, I could be wrong though and I’m sure my mom will call to set me straight if that’s the case.  What I do remember is having “how many huge ice cubes can you swallow” contest with my brother and playing in a laundry basket.  What?  It was fun stuff, then….and the ice, well….we were dorks obviously.  One of the cool things we did do, was climb this old tree and pretend it was our club house.  We made do with what we had and it worked.  Can you imagine how cool our clubhouse would have been with one of these swing sets?? GAH!

Now imagine being an only child.  No, little man isn’t an only child but he is 10yrs younger than his older brother which means he doesn’t have anyone to play with.  I mean come on, they’re teenagers and the last thing they want to do is play toddler games.

We have a nice home now on a ranch that we plan to be at for a long time.  It would be nice to have this in our backyard for our little man so that he’s not roaming about where the rattlesnakes are.  It will be even cooler to have all the family over and see all the nieces and nephews playing together with little man!  What a way to bring everyone together huh:)

It hooks up to your TV or PC so that your child can do simple drawings or even create they’re own family tree with pictures.  It has a super cool digital camera that will take a picture of the child sitting at the desk and if using with a pc, your little one can send creations in email or even create ecards or even print!   Your child can take a picture and then literally drag and drop little clip-art to place on the picture.  Even my 12yr old was intrigued!!

I’m wowed at the features this little Vtech toy has and how far kids toys have come today.  Having a fun, interactive toy that brings out creativity??? What more can you ask for.  It incorporates the following:

• Drawing
• Creative Play
• Puzzle Logic
• Hand Eye Coordination
• Photography

The only drawback of the KidiArt Studio I found is that it uses batteries.  I would much prefer a wall adapter instead to keep the cost down.  Other than that, this is a must have toy.  Give your child something that they can learn from.  Let their creative juices flow.  You know it’s fun if we ALL tried it here in the house;)

This is appropriate for children ages  4-7.  While my little guy was a bit to young for it, he instantly picked up how to take the pictures and how to drag a piece of clip art over onto the picture.  Genius?  Maybe, but I bet it has something to do with how easy it is to understand the features.

Price for this creative toy?  A cool $79.99.  Not bad when you consider all that it is capable of doing. This has already won awards by the way…..that should tell you something.
