Taste of Home Talks Casseroles and Includes My Shrimp Stroganoff Dish!

Remember my Shrimp Stroganoff Casserole? Well, it’s in the April issue of Taste of Home! I found out a while back that it was going to be in there and was so excited! I was told it had been made in several of the Taste of Home testing kitchens and they were giving it thumbs up all around, which made me feel very good.

Casseroles really are making a comeback it seems even though they’ve always been a part of our family’s meal time.  You really can make a lot with very few ingredients which is great for big families and freezes well for smaller families.

I love breakfast casseroles, dessert casseroles, and of course casseroles that serve as a main dish.  I don’t think I could have ever fed 50 cowboys & cowgirls without a casserole!

P.S.  They took a good picture of the dish but I think mine is better…..just sayin’

P.P.S.  If you don’t have cream of shrimp, cream of chicken will do!  I get asked that a lot;)


This is mine…..well, maybe their shrimp looks better than mine huh?  lol

    Lori – that is so exciting. I love Taste of Home. Before we moved to NC, we lived right around the corner from their home office. I was new mom and that didn’t excite me nearly like it does now. Wish I had taken advantage of my own back yard then. :)
    Such a great company.

    Terrific — congratulations! Taste of Home may not deliver fancy gourmet recipes, but it’s my go-to source for tasty, fairly easy to prepare recipes. It’s great that yours passed their tests to get in!

    Congrats Lori! They have food stylists for food pictures, it’s crazy what they do to food for magazine photos and packaging. They have a Food Network Challenge for food stylists, it was amazing.

    Congrats! That is so awesome to be featured in such a great magazine. If I didn’t like shrimp, I would totally make that casserole. Maybe I’ll sub chicken and try it out. yum!

    Oh, I didn’t know you were in Sweetwater! Brings back old memories…I was born in Big Spring and after we moved to Arlington, we used to drive through Sweetwater all the time to visit my grandparents!
