XLIII Super Bowl Football Pepsi Giveaway Party

Are you ready for some football?!!! I know I am and can’t wait for the Super Bowl game but in the mean time, I’ve got a great Pepsi giveaway for you that is jam packed with goodies!

Before I get to the giveaway, I want to encourage you to check out Refresh Everything.  The question, “What would you say to the man who is about to refresh America?”  is asked and they would love to have hear your response via video.  You can also see videos of what others are saying.  If video is not your thing, please feel free to answer the question here in the comments.  I would love to hear what you would say.

We are huge football fans around here and we love it all from 6-man football to the Pros.  My husband was a heck a player back in his day and has several trophies at his old school that have his name on them.  My kids play now and my toddler breathes the game.  He has over a dozen footballs and even sleeps with one.

Sweet giveaway! My favorite team is the New Orleans Saints, we are from Louisiana, unfortunately, they never make it as far as the Super Bowl though! My favorite rookie player would be Reggie Bush though, that boy can run!

This is an amazing giveaway!!!! Our favorite team in this house is PITTSBURGH STEELERS!!! So far so good with them and am dreaming of them in the Super Bowl yet again!

This would be a perfect addition to our Super Bowl party! Thank you!

  3. Brian Darnell says

Matt Ryan will win but Matt Forte desrves it more. Name another good offensive weapon from the Bears.??? The Colts are my favorite team, but unfortunately for the city of Indy, and not just the team, Coach Dungy is now just Mr. Dungy.

  4. says

Oh my gosh! You have no idea how badly we are chomping at the bit for the big game. Cardinal fans young and old alike are buzzing around here in Arizona! We are so pumped up for this game on Saturday and I have a great feeling about the outcome – Cardinals will go to the Super Bowl this year! They deserve it!

  5. says

I love this!!! I have to answer two/three of these because we are huge football fans as well. So the first answer is that my favorite team is of course our home team the Indianapolis Colts.

I’ll also make my prediction here. I think Arizona has a good shot of winning the 2009 Super Bowl. Go Edgerrin!

WOW, what a wonderful giveaway. My fiance is a die hard Vikings fan and my kids and I are big time Eagles fans!!! Go Eagles all the way!!!!! This would be a wonderful additive to our superbowl party.
    Thanks for all you do!!!

  7. Kelly Ann T. says

I would love to bring the snack helmet to our annual superbowl party. My favorite team is the Indiana Colts. I like Payton Manning he is such a class act.

  8. Wendy Wallach says

To refresh America, I would tell the President to assemble a committee of regular people from all walks of life to give advice about major legislation as they see it.

  9. Patricia says

Super Bowl Party Tip – After the Super Bowl is over, ask you local supermarket if you can have one of the big displays they set up and no longer need. Put the display in storage in you house and bring it out next year for your Super Bowl party. It’s a nice way to get some free decorations.

  10. Dianne Fuzek says

We are New England Patriots fans. Sadly, they are not in the “Bowl” this year. However, that GAME is the GAME and lots of fun. This is not a “man-only” exclusive party, either. We just have to keep things comfortable, fun, carefree for everyone. Prepared ahead foods and snacks and of course, Pepsi beverages (for clear heads and more fun – REALLY – than alcohol. Nothing too messy. Clear the “viewing” room of all “doo-dads” so the excitement of the wins or losses do not cause any undue “accidents”. BATHROOMS – accessible and stocked with necessities!!! Innocent wagers are acceptable. And for those of us who are not “football” literate – patience from other knowledgable participants in the party – with their sharing of rules of the game.

  11. Alicia Webster says

I would advise the President Elect to withdraw from the United Nations. It is an organization that is, and always has been, contrary to American interests, and as the premier world superpower it is time that the US asserts her dominance once again.

  12. Mike R. says

I have 2 favorite teams. The Pittsburgh Steelers & The Philadelphia Eagles. The Pittsburgh Steelers will win the Super Bowl.

  13. sara says

We do a pot luck and have everyone bring a dish that keeps the work and expense down on one family and there’s more food.

  14. Carol says

Super Bowl idea: each year, we gather with friends and the food at the party must have a theme. Last year was Comfort Food, this year it’s Mexican. It’s fun!

  15. says

I think the new President should really work on the middle class people the most. We are the ones that really need help. I also think he should give us the tax break as well like we got this year. I think we should get one every year. We got $1200 from this last time. It helped somewhat, but not much! I hope we see great things from Obama. We will just have to wait and see. Also this is a wonderful give away! Sweet! :)

  16. Gina Stratos says

  17. Joe P says

I am a white Christian Republican…. who voted for Obama.

Refreshing America” is not giong to be a small task. We have done trickle down” and allowed CEOs to beomc rich while jobs are going overseas and american children’s schools are being drained of dollars.

It has to be long term thinking. While gas prices came down, President Obama is right in saying we need to find ways to become less dependent on oil. As a father of 3, I wouldn’t mind to see my tax dollars to be put towards my kids future in that way.

We need to put more substantial money into education and make it a serious issue in this country.

We need immediate help too. Tax breaks are fine, but many of us are struggling NOW. Give every WORKING people a stimulous check.

As far as football, I’m a Giants fan. Sigh. I believe that Matt Ryan should be the Rookie of the year.

  18. amy mayer says

My favorite football team is the Carolina Panthers and despite what happened last weekend Jake Delhomme is my fave–he has boyish good looks, HUMBLE, a team player, gives credit to his teammates and is a good QB!

  19. Jessica Blint says

I believe the Eagles will win the Superbowl, think they have done an amazing job this season.

As for our new President (thank goodness) to refresh America:

Create new jobs, since there have been so many people like me whom have lost there job due to bad economy last year.

Also somehow negotiate with other countries for “PEACE” not “WAR” there are too many lives being taken.

  20. Teresa E says

My favorite team is the Tennessee Titans . My favorite player is Kyle Vanden Bosch , he is hanging on my wall in my game room.:)

  21. Margaret B says

Our favorite super bowl game is that everyone is given a sheet of paper asking questions such as “what will the first commercial be?” or “What team will score the first touchdown?” etc. The person with the most correct answers at the end wins a prize. You could even play this game by using fake money and placing “bets”. It is always such a fun game and gets everyone involved, even if they don’t like football.

  22. Rita M says

I really like the Pittsburgh Steelers… very gritty. So, I’m hoping they win the Super Bowl & I’ll be cheering for Troy Polamalu.

  23. Margaret Smith says

Thanks for offering this giveaway. I predict that the Steelers will win the Superbowl. Can’t wait for the big day.

  24. Walter Koons Jr says

At the party have individual bowls for people to load up with chips, nuts and other snacks. Get a large container (1 gallon or more) of water and use real glasses to cut down on the small water bottle waste.

  25. Reveille Patterson says

I think the Eagles will win! I hope and pray that our new President will be able to bring this great Nation together again. Refresh us by bringing unity to America and forget all the party politics. America first!

  26. Clifton Wade says

EAGLES – ALL THE WAY! Thank you for this great contest – I have a bet with my disabled wife of more than 39 years that I will not win this prize – prove me wrong. Thank you for this great contest and prize!

  27. says

I love the New England Patriots, and their QB Matt Cassel! He is awesome, and he is so focused on FOOTBALL. Because he is all about football, and nothing else, I admire his devotion to the game and to his team.

  28. Sheila says

Who is your favorite football team and/or player? Well I love College football, my fave team is Missouri Tigers, and my favorite player is Chase Daniels!

  29. says

  30. Sally Lindsay says

Obama needs to refresh Aerica by giving all citizens a share of the money instead of giving it to banks and corporations.

  31. says

  32. Marie Fink says

I love the Steelers and my favorite player is Hines Ward. Seems like he always has that big smile on his face and he’s a great player. m04taes(at)verizon(dot)net

  33. says

Steve Slaton should get rookie of the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  34. Karen Ruth says

Our new President must revitalize America by inspiring them to do their part to make the change that is needed. He is not a magician and cannot heal all our woes with a snap of his fingers, but he can enlist the help of all to attain our common goals.

  35. Shellie Seering says

My favorite party dip is pretty simple…I microwave a chunk of Velveeta and mix in a bottle of Pace salsa. Simple, yet delicious!

  36. Yvonne Huff says

I would request that the president make it his priority to try to fix the economy. We need more jobs. I bet everyone of you knows at least one person out of a job.

  37. Darlene Taylor says

I’m not a football fan but I guess my favorite team would have to be the home team, Detroit Lions. Yeah, the worst team ever, 0-16, new record.

  38. Kay M. says

I would advise Obama to ‘refresh’ some of the environmental issues that Bush really twisted, and to do his best to get this country on a ‘Green Movement’ that would create jobs locally.

  39. Monique Bradley says

The Pepsi Refresh website is really pretty neat. I wish I were brave enough to make a video. I want the new president to think very seriously about the state of the economy and the direction America is going with outsourcing jobs overseas. I think that companies should be rewarded for keeping jobs in the US and companies that hire overseas labor should have to pay some sort of extra penalty in taxes.

  40. Rachael says

Good Luck to the new President. I hope that during the next four years he can make the United States of America a better place to live for all.

  41. says

Hi, Lori. What a great question – what would I suggest to the new president to refresh America. I think the comment about rewarding companies who don’t outsource is a wonderful idea. I also think that finding a way to reward family units would be awesome; it would lower the crime rate, and perhaps get us back to really communicating with one another. I think there’s a lot of fear in our country, too – especially of “the bad guys” – and that’s the media’s fault. While I do believe in freedom of the press, perhaps a scale system like the movies have would be good.
Regardless, he definitely needs us to pray for him!

    Lori S.s last blog post..Here I am!

  42. Cynthia Shern says

I think the President should take ALL the Bail-Out money and divide it by the number of tax payers in America EQUALLY (not more for people who pay more) and return our Tax Money to us so that we can distribute it Naturally to all our creditors. Natural economy stimulation and the American Families would be better off at the same time. GIVE OUR MONEY BACK! [email protected]

  43. Patsy Winters says

Reducing or elimating our dependence on oil(and gas) should be the number one objective for President Obama. This would open up the economy, provide more jobs, and make the U.S. “greener”.

  44. beth shepherd says

  45. Zoly says

I would like the President to outlaw lobbyists.
The people with money should not be allowed to buy Congressmen and make the rules for the whole nation. The large corporations are running Congress and all the Congressmen are so involved that even if a newly elected Senator or Representative goes in with a clean heart, he cannot buck the system, and definitely will not change anything nor will he be reelected. Don’t get me started.

  46. Michael Oelrich says

My favorite player is the most electrifying player in the NFL today — Devin Hester. He plays on my favorite team, the Chicago Bears.

  47. dianne says

Reduce debt and created jobs that pay decent wages (so people don’t have to work 2 full time jobs to make ends meet) – focus on medical and STOP birth right citizenship.

  48. Nancy R says

Since the question posed says who is your “favorite football player?” and does not designate professional ….I have to go with Tim Tebow..great college quarterback, and FANtastic person.

  49. Sarah Z. says

I wish I had some good advice to give President Obama on how to Refresh the economy. I guess my piece of advice would be to listen to the people around you and get multiple perspectives from your advisors. Use multiple strategies and hope that we’re able to get out of this recession.

  50. Denise B. says

    1. I would advise the President who is bought and paid for by corporate America to surprise them by being one of the first presidents in decades not to be their puppet.

  51. Heather says

Our new president will have a lot of work to do to rebuild our nation and our imagine in the world. We all need to pitch in and help him REFRESH America :-)

  52. Anne L. says

Who do you predict will win the 2009 Super Bowl? E-A-G-L-E-S, Eagles! I’d certainly like them to win. Go, Eagles!

  53. Tracy says

super bowl party idea/tip: Don’t forget the vegetarians, I always make sure to have some non-meat/vegetarian options at my Superbowl Parties, in case someone brings a guest you don’t know very well and that person is a vegetarian, you are always covered ;) (Go Cowboys!)

  54. jefmel says

I would like to see President Obama Refresh America by making a way for the unemployed to keep their home. It would be nice if he would get the companies to allow you to keep your home if you are making at least 1/2 of your payment each month and were laid off due to the ecomomny. Too Many People are loosing their homes!!

  55. says

    Best team and player?

All I can say is…”HOW “BOUT THOSE FLORIDA GATORS???” and Tim Tebow. Yes, I don’t care if they aren’t related to a pro team.
If I win (and I hope I do) I’ll keep a seat warm for Tim.

  56. Anita W says

Best NFL football team–easy, the Tennessee Titans. Best player–Chris Johnson. He is also the best rookie and has been nominated for the honor.

  57. Lynda Ball says

My heart will always belong to Peyton Manning. I don’t care who he plays for, Peyton’s the man! I have been following his career since his days at UT. I will not miss a Colts game for anything!

  58. Barbara says

My favorite football team is a college team, Boise State. Since I don’t think you were asking about college, in the pros I think Ryan Clady (Denver Broncos) should get offensive Rookie of the Year.

  59. Stanford Axel says

“What would you advise the President to do to Refresh America”?

just a start: Create a WPA-like program. One task could be to transport NYC’s waste to New Orleans. Jack up the city in small important areas and fill with the waste. And keep going till all is above sealevel.

  60. Dawn Langis says

The president needs to make it feasible for companies to keep work in the USA. Taxing our citizens without making foreigners pay the same taxes doesn’t allow the small business to compete fairly.

  61. Melissa says

My favorite football team is the Atlanta Falcons. I think the Philadelphia Eagles will probably win it. I love the Rotel cheese dip for super bowl sunday. I’ll throw some taco meat in it also. They guys all love it!!

  62. Kris T. says

My favorite football player is Donald Driver of the Green Bay Packers. Such a classy guy. Thanks for the chance to win such a great giveaway.

  63. Cathie says

I would love to twitter but I don’t know how. A friend invited me to join and I did and can’t figure out how to use it *feeling dumb*

  64. Elaine says

I would like Obama to Refresh American by addressing our Health Care problems. We need lower health care payments for medical, dental and prescriptions. It is hard to retire and afford medical at the cost the insurance companies charge us today.

  65. Karen H says

I would advise him to follow his own advice and not spend so much on the inauguration.

$156 million could be well spent somewhere else!

Thanks for hosting a great giveaway.

  66. says

I am a Dodo-head. I just realized that in my original comment (#5) I referred to the big (Cardinals) game as being on Saturday, instead of Sunday. I don’t know what I was thinking.

Anyway, I stumbled AND tweeted about this on Thursday. That I am sure of.

  67. Margaret Carver says

    Superbowl party tip
I always use a tub of ice in the living room during the game.It slows the traffic to the kitchen and ensures that you dont miss any plays while in the fridge. Also a large trash can is handy!!!

  68. Kasey says

My favorite team is the New York Giants, but there out of the running this year :( boo hoo
So I am pulling the Arizona Cardnials and Kurt Warner to Win ! ! !
    Thanks for the contest !
    I hope I win

  69. says

New to your site- fun stuff.
All my kids are teens now but, when they were little ones they would tend to get a little bit bored and restless during a 3-4 hour game.
A fun thing to do, make up some bingo cards, use terms such as fumble, yellow flag, touchdown, team logos, even advertisement sponsors, sometimes i add terms like ‘girl in an ad’ or ‘dog in an ad’.
Before game day, run to the dollar shop and pick up the kinds of bubblegum toys that kids are usually told are a waste of money- yoyo’s, rubber balls, small candy packs, pencil packs, etc. put them into a paper bag. Crumple the top like the neck of a vase. place a large rubber band around it so that small hands can get in but you cannot see inside.

As the game is played, a small dried bean or similar object is placed onto the boards as each ‘term’ comes ‘into play’.
At our house, the adults end up playing too. Fun for all and it keeps the little ones occupied so that the adults can watch the game without distractions.
    Happy Superbowl!

  73. Eloise C says

My favorite football team is the Indianapolis Colts and my favorite player by far is Peyton Manning. Who will win the Super Bowl, I would love to see the Arizona Cardinal win just because they are the underdog but realistically I would have to go with the Steelers, even though I hate to say it! The Rookie of the Year should go to the Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. Thanks so much for such a wonderful giveaway!

  74. Jason Lawless says

I think the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to win the Super Bowl this year, although I am pulling for the Arizona Cardinals.

  75. says

People foolish enough to work in the New Era of Change should be overloaded with taxes. We should all just let those people support us. Sure hope this is a good enough answer to win.

  76. Donna Bilbrey says

Allow taxpayers a “Tax Holiday” for a few months. With the extra money, the U.S. citizens would jumpstart the economy.

  77. Cathy Truman says

    Favorite team is Indianapolis COLTS.
    Favorite player is Peyton Manning.
Thanks so much for the fun contest.

  78. ann says

in these tough economic times my super bowl tip is to get invited to someone else’s super bowl party ;). kidding…i think! another tip would be to check for printable coupons online before buying those party supplies, theres always a dollar off this and that available!

  79. Kirsten says

I love Obama. But I wouldn’t spend that much on the Inauguration when the country is in dire straits financially. That is my first piece of advice.

  80. Marlena U. says

Serve food based on the two cities of the teams in the Superbowl. My dad does this every year and it if always a surprise to see what he’ll make. It also helps the kids in the family get to know what type of food is famous in other areas of the country.

  81. ivonia class says

My favorite football team is the NY Giants because they have heart. when everyone counted them out last year they had the heart to win it all and prove to the world that they were champs. Although we couldn’t repeat this year there’s always next year.

  82. says

I think Steve Slaton should get Rookie of the Year this year. It has been such a pleasure to watch this man find himself in the NFL, and bring such a powerful presence to a team that desperately needed it!

  83. Stacie Frost says

My sweet husband is a die hard Raiders fan…but since they are not going…I’ll have to say the Ravens will go to the Superbowl…with the Cardinals. What a GREAT prize pack!

  84. says

We always get together at my sister’s house (she has the biggest TV..LOL
An idea I would like to share is a really nice snack idea. Take dairy bisquits, or rolls (like pillsbury that are in the tube that you just cook in the oven for about 10 minutes…) and place them on a cookie sheet (greased or ungreased depends on roll directions). Have a jar of ragu or other marinara sauce out and open. Have peperoni, mushrooms, olives, and other assorted pizza toppings. Have shredded cheeses out!
As your guests arrive ask them what kind of pizza bites they want! they can also join in the fun and make the snacks themselves!
It is so easy you put a spoon indentation on the roll, then you add your “pizza” to the indentation…and it is so quick to cook!
    Great for kids too!

  85. says

Who is your favorite football team and/or player?
Brett Favre – He is AWESOME even though he won’t be in the Superbowl and will more than likely retire – he is hands down one of the best quarterbacks to have played the game.

  86. Debbie Criss says

I think I would say we need to go wind and solar power. It would create more jobs. Jobs to create them, and jobs to assemble, and jobs for maintence. I think there should be less outrageous wasted expenses in the government and purchase everyone who wants a wind turbine, and solar panels. This is my dream, but can’t afford them. We live on a tight budget, this would help our utility bills allong with others who get them installed. Please enter me, thank you

  87. michelle says

My favorite team is the cowboys. I just wish they would not let me down so much. Whitten is my favorite player on the Cowboys.

  88. Dan Riley says

In order to refresh the United States, President Elect Obaama has to take a stand against imports. We became complacent and now, everything we buy at Wal-mart comes from China, Vietnam, Pakistan, or somewhere else. Other countries have import tarriffs on non-food items of 100 percent or more. We as Americans need to start buying locally and thinking globallly. There is no easy answer.

  89. Georgana Kicinski says

I predict the Eagles will win. The President also wants to have a SUPER BOWL of College teams to name one as the best. I think that is an Awesome idea!!!

  90. Kathleen says

I’m a college ball fan. But I’m still in charge of set up and clean up for this one. Send me the tools! Go GATORS! No ideas about this game though.

  91. says

Who is your favorite football team and/or player?

I’ve always loved the redskins. the redskin fans have lots of fair weather fans. when they’re doing well they have fans. when they aren’t the fans are scarce. that’s because dc is pretty transient. I was born there so i really do love them.

  92. Mellisa W. says

  93. Ashley says

I think the President should enforce something that makes all americans debt free. With the financial stresses today, many could use the extra help! If that’s not san option, maybe a bigger stimulus check to all!

  94. says

  99. Stephanie says

A good idea for a Super Bowl party is to set up a baked potato bar with all the fixings and let your guests build their own.

  100. Erica says

I would like to see the Arizona Cardinals win. They played awesome today and I hope that they play like that during the super bowl.

ANOTHER tid bit…we like to buy turkey legs, smoke those and serve them. They are fairly inexpensive and of course you have to have the lil’ smokies! Hilshire Farms has $0.55 peelies on there products now making them a little under $2.00. I found this at wal-mart yesterday!

  101. Heather says

I think the Steelers will win – especially the way the playoff game is going. My favorite player is Willie Parker. Dispite all of the push back from his college team not letting him play Willie still believed in himself and now he has become one of the greatest running backs in NFL history!

  102. Tanya Moyer says

I’m rooting for the Cardinals!!! Kurt Warner is so cool! Great giveaway – thanks for offering it!

  103. Karen P says

My prediction ~ Pittsburgh, sorry Arizona peeps, its been so long for you, but I think this is going to be Pitts year. As for the rookie of the year, there is this one receiver, I can’t think of his name, but you also have to throw Flacco into the mix, he led his team this year.

  104. Melissa says

THANKS for the opportunity to win!
My favorite football team is the Indianapolis Colts – my favorite player is Peyton Manning.
Ooooh! We would love to have the Pepsi Superbowl giveaway – way cool products and my husband would really enjoy the free Pepsi.

    THANKS again!

I guess we’re all Seahawks fans here. My son love Sahwn Alexander and has his jersey. I’m not sure who we’re rooting for in the Super Bowl, but we always enjoy watching.

I’m hoping that Arizona can make a GAME of this matchup, but I’m suspecting that the Steelers might just blow past them… Gotta cheer for this PRIZE, though!!

If Steelers don’t win my husband will be inconsolable! They are his favorite team. He’s a pastor and I can’t have anyone in the house when he watches football. He goes insane. He might scare the other children. LOL ;-)

    3) Who is your favorite football team and/or player?

Since I was a little boy I have rooted for the Pittsburgh Steelers (since the 70’s). While everyone around me would choose a different team each year I stuck with my boys. They have had good years and bad years but I never faultered in them and believed they would bring it to the Super Bowl. I will be watching every second of the game come Super Bowl knowing that my team is going to bring in on and bring home #6!
My wife and I are hosting our 1st every Super Bowl party at our home this year. She is all excited to decorate and make great food for the day. We will have many friends and family over to watch it all. Some love the game, some love the commericals, some love just 1/2 time but all in all everyone should have a great day.
    Go Steelers!

He should give every american a chunk of money rather than a bailout, if he gave us all money…. we will most likely pay off houses…… that will help out banks to pay off our loans, then we will spend whatever is left if any, therfore it will boost the econ? yeah?

  129. P. Harmon says

My tip: Let the kids throw the superbowl party. My kids (the 13, 10, and 7 yr. old) make a list for me (that’s where this prize would come in handy) and they make a football cake, go to the dollar store and get team color streamers, balloons, poms, megaphones, whatever they want (its the $ store-go crazy). They surprise their dad (he always acts like he never saw it coming) and they are so proud of themselves, then they get crazy and loud because its football!

  130. Amy C says

If my team isn’t playing I cheer on the underdog so GO CARDINALS!

As for what I’d like to see Pres. Obama do — it’s important to bring more jobs back to this country from overseas. American Jobs = Americans paying taxes + Americans paying into social security + Americans able to maintain homes and spend more money at local businesses.

Our family cheers on the Pittsburgh Steelers during every game they play. We’ll be routing for them to win the SuperBowl for sure! A fun party idea is when your guests arrive, have them write their score prediction on a piece of paper. At the end of the game, the person who’s predicted score was the closest wins a prize.
