Alamo Deal Retriever and a FABULOUS {Giveaway} Travel Bundle! (kindle, dvd player, and more)

By A Cowboy's Wife | February 20, 2013

If you’ll recall, I shared some of Alamo’s promotions and services not too long ago.  Today, I’m sharing their newly made-over website!  In celebration of that and the new Alamo Deal Retriever feature, I’m giving away a fantastic prize bundle!

alamo deal retriever

Alamo’s Deal Retriever searches all valid Alamo deals and coupons on the web to find the best rates to meet customers’ needs and instantly offers you, the customer, the best deals that apply to any of your upcoming trips. YEAH BUDDY!  That just means it saves you time AND money.  Alamo understands that you want to save money and know you’re going to hunt the interwebs for the best deal anyways, so they’re taking the initiative to go ahead and find those coupons and deals for you.  Hello!  That’s what I’m talking about y’all!

alamo deals

As you can see above, I entered my info and clicked search deals.  The best deal I picked was $10 off a 3-day weekend.  If you to the right, you’ll see that it automatically applies the coupon code in the box.  It gave several deals to choose from but I thought this one was the best fit for my needs.  Now all I have to do is book.

I know you’re anxiously awaiting the giveaway! BUT FIRST!!! Let’s be sure to remember that these giveaways are only available because of the generosity of the sponsors who offer them.  You know what I’m saying?  Thank you to Alamo for allowing me to host and bring you their deals and special features.  You can visit them on Facebook, Twitter, and you can even sign up for their insider newsletter.

GET TO KNOW ALAMO PRIZE BUNDLE

AlamoKit

One winner will win this fabulous prize package containing the following (note-the DVD player is not in photo but IS included in prize bundle):

  • Colby 7” Portable DVD Player
  • Hasbro Travel Connect 4

  • Alamo 10oz Wake-Up Coffee Mug
  • Alamo Carabineer Sanitizer with Moisture

HOW TO ENTER

Visit Alamo’s new Deal Retriever feature and share your thoughts on it in a comment below.  Your thoughts on it’s capabilities and even if you something you think needs to be added to the feature. Alamo cares and want to hear!  (You may do this daily as long as you share a different thought, idea, piece of feedback every day. I just ask that you provide value to your comment. Thanks y’all!)

While I don’t require it, I do ask that you share via twitter, facebook, etc. You are more than welcomed to leave a link to those shares. I always enjoy seeing who shares my posts.  I know the sponsors appreciate that, as well as myself.  You have until February 28th to enter. I’ll close at about 10pm CST.  Good luck y’all!

worked really well – punched in the dates of my trip this summer and three deals came up. My reaction is that I expected more deals than just two (like signing up for their newsletter not really a deal). Maybe giving me a few categories of cars and prices immediately with the deal price next to it so have something solid to make a decision on.

  36. Natalie U says

Yes it’s good but I think it should have an email update opt in if there is a price drop that comes up between when you have your car reserved, or just an email opt in alert if the price drops in that Minh because sometimes you can rearrange your car rental plans especially if he price is appealing

I learned that Alamo partners with Southwest Airlines for some even better deals! This is huge for me since my most common trips are in and out of and around Texas–all the airports served easily by Southwest.

I think it would be helpful to know that if I picked a city in Virginia, for example, that if I selected Arlington; it would mean I could pick up a car at the airport there (i.e, I saw “Dulles” as a choice, but not Reagan National (DCA)). It would be nice to see the airport code beside the city so you knew you wouldn’t have to drive to another town to get a vehicle, that it was available at the airport.

  146. Alfredo Reyes says

Straight off the bat, prices should be visible rather than have to go through the whole process to get a deal. If it really is a deal, be proud of your car rental deals. I know the cost may be different depending where you live, but that could easily be remedied with the browser asking the user for their location.

  147. Kim Deal says

I really liked that the Alamo website showed all the options. I also liked that they had vehicles large enough for my entire family of 6. With other companies they generally don’t have a vehicle that will hold all of us! My only ‘but’ is that they only had 3 cities in Oregon, where we would travel the most.

I love that they have a search feature that is flexible so you can pick the month and see the days with the best deals and also last minute specials. What I would like to see them change is the ability to get rentals in smaller towns with airports. My searches only had results for major cities which limits all my vacation destinations.
