If you follow me on social media, then you’re in the loop for the most part but I know that not all of you like to be on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter so I thought I’d give you a “life” update here! In fact, I plan to share more of weekly activities here with y’all, you know, like the old days when I first started blogging.
GARTH BROOKS
Sooooo, if you haven’t heard, Garth Brooks is doing a ‘Dive Tour’ where he’s performing at 7 dive bars in the United States. The interesting thing about this tour is you can’t buy tickets for any of them. You have to win them. Crazy, right?! It’s a promotional tour by American Country Music and it’s a way to get you listening to the radio! Well, guess what?!! I didn’t win them. I got something better. Garth remembered me and my cowboy and extended us 2 media tickets!! Can you believe that? That means we get to see him perform at Gruene Hall, one of the oldest running dancehalls around! If you recall, I interviewed him and then was later invited to his show in Las Vegas!
FOOTBALL Y’ALL!!
I’ve been blogging over 12 years so I know that many of you have watched my kids grow up. Well, y’all, Truett is in 7th grade! He turns 13 on September 25th and he’s been waiting for the day he can play football!!! That day has finally come and I just can’t believe it! He’s been waiting for the day he can play on the same field as his brothers, walk out into pep rallies as his brothers did, and BE a Highland Hornet.
He had his first game last week and I took a few photos so I wanted to share those with y’all.
LIFE
My oldest son lives up in the Texas Panhandle, which is a good 5hrs away so we don’t get to see him often. This was the first time our youngest son got to see him in over a year so we were all completely thrilled to spend the little time we got to. Tyler stays busy riding lots of outside horses and working at a feedlot.
Time goes by so fast, y’all. Don’t take a moment for granted. I’d give anything to get some of it back when all my boys were home.
Toby, my middle son, is a cop. Another one that’s all grown up. :( He still plans to pursue a career as a game warden but is appreciating the experience he’s getting right now. He also has a wonderful, beautiful girlfriend……
Me and my husband stay busy on the ranch. I’ve upgraded my camera gear and hope to get some great photos, next Spring, of the cowboys branding. Every now and then we have a super cute little visitor, Mr. Alton, who wholeheartedly believes he’s a cowboy. He loves coming out to the ranch and we love seeing him.
Finally, me and my cowboy are still in love. January 30th will be 27 years and I have come to appreciate every minute of every day with all my fellas.
