I was reading through my archives thinking about how so much has changed since I started blogging and was wowed but this one thing. I started blogging in February of 2007 but it was in July of 2007 before I put a face to this blog. Five whole months before you got to see what I looked like. Just in case you weren’t following me way back then, here is the photo I shared:
Yep, that was me in 2007. Gawd I miss my hair. Truett was just 9mths 0ld (now 3). My how the time flies right? I remember that photo being taken too. We were at a hotel room in Abilene, Tx during the Western Heritage Rodeo. With the exception of a fatter face and shorter hair, I pretty much look the same I reckon.
Something I noticed on that very old post is that I replied to the comments I got on it, something I rarely do now. Kinda sad really because I truly want to reply to comments, you know? For the past few months I’ve been in a funk. A funk that is finally ending thanks to a few good people, removing myself from certain commitments, lots of organization, and simply saying no. Blogging is exhausting mentally and I’m ashamed that I let it break me down like it did. I’m feeling good and with all the recent changes, I’m looking forward to whatever comes next.
If you haven’t already noticed, some things have changed here at A Cowboy’s Wife. I merged all the topics that I love back into the blog. The fact is, I like to talk about everything and I just don’t see any sense in maintaining several blogs. I don’t have the time for that. So expect blogging, crafts, shopping, digital, and other topics here now on a regular basis. I’m getting back in the groove y ‘all!
Until tomorrow……..

Hey Lori – so interesting this is the conclusion you’ve come to – merging – as I decided to do some of the same myself last week. I just don’t have the motivation for splitting up the topics, so I wind up not blogging at all. That doesn’t make any sense at all!
I love that picture of you and Truett – very sweet! And I miss your long hair, too – though, your new ‘chic’ hair is so stylish. I’m glad you’re working your way out of your funk! :)
A Cowboy's Wife says
That’s exactly how I felt Lisa!! I didn’t even want to blog which is so lame. It took me a bit but I realized what I needed to do;)

Lori, 5 months is nothing. I’ve been blogging for 2 1/2 years and still haven’t put a picture of myself on my blog. LOL My daughter and you are making me rethink my decision about not having a picture. I may put one on there after all. :) I’ve been in a funk the past few months, too, since I’ve started working again as a substitute teacher. It’s hard to get everything done that I want to do. I want to rethink the direction for my blog and improve it because I really do enjoy blogging. And recently it’s been fun having my daughter to discuss blogging with now that she’s started a blog.
You have reminded me that I need to reply to comments in my comment section. I used to be able to receive emails when I had gotten a comment and I would reply to comments by email. But for some unknown reason I stopped getting email notification of comments, and so I quit replying to the majority of them. I need to just leave a reply in the comment section and forget the emails!!
I have learned a lot about blogging from you through the past 2 1/2 years! I appreciate all you’ve written to help fellow bloggers!

Gosh, I sure hope it doesn’t take months for me to come out of my blogging funk, but who knows. Time will tell.
I think it’s great you’ve got tons of different topics. I tried to manage two blogs once and it was truly too exhausting.

Lori, thanks for being so honest.
It’s comforting to know that other people go through the whole bloggy funk thing. And I was the same way in the beginning of my blogging. It took almost a year before I put my real face out there.

That is a beautiful picture! And yes, your hair is amazing. I have always wanted curly hair…..alas I am stuck with straight hair. Oh well :)
Your little boy is darling in his plaid shirt! I want to get my baby boy a bunch of plaid shirts so he can match his daddy, uncle and grandad! Wouldn’t that be a perfect picture?
And good for you for unstressing. yes, a blog is seriously exhausting if you let it! I have had to step away too…..I get pretty behind but it is my blog and not as important as my life ;)
