Ad Matching at Walmart with No Ad (quick video)

By A Cowboy's Wife | June 30, 2011

I already talked you about Walmart’s Ad Match policy and how I’d be showing you a video on me ad matching with no ad so that’s what this video is about.

I simply went to Walmart, found the item I wanted to price match, and checked out. I told her they were 5 for $5 at the competitor’s store. They were $1.78 at Walmart so by ad matching, I saved $3.98 and didn’t have to go to more than one store! I had my ad in my purse but wanted to see if they’d honor the price without the ad and they did, no problems! Watch the video!

How do they know you’re not just making a price up? Not to say you would, but some people definitely would.

I’ll probably still bring ads with me anyway, because I forget the prices without something to look at.

I am so like you about wondering REALLY how many times I will go into a Walmart and they will say “Show me where you found this price.” I know that I shouldn’t have to bring in the ad but I do for this reason alone! I think every Walmart is different and all employees are different also. I’m saying some will give you the “gosh, ugh!” and some “sure no problem!” lol You never know. I feel like I am walking on egg shells. God bless ;)

We haven’t had any problem at our Walmart. They take our word for it.

My walmart is paranoid! lol They bring in a CSM everytime I use printable online coupons even without themselves checking it first. Kind of time consuming to me but they are always legit so it’s no problem on my end.

I did have a toys r us ad about 4 weeks ago for a HUGE deal. The DJ Hero2 bundles, Guitar Hero new bundles & tony hawk bundles (which were at walmart from $59.99-79.99) were only 9.99!!! toys r us were of course out, so I took them to walmart to price match.

It took 6 ppl including the assistant manager before I finally got the ok. I bought 2 items and saved $100!!!! It took about 25 minutes before I got the final ok but that was worth it to save $100!!!

I wish!! I tried this with our local Walmart (price matching an ad from a Toys R Us sale), and they demanded I bring in the ad- they won’t price match anything online, it has to be a local paper, according to the two employees I spoke with. Price matching at Walmart isn’t worth it here in VA! I’d rather shop online than fight over a $5 savings. Good luck & congrats to those of you who have more accomodating (aka ‘management who actually go along with the new policy’) Walmarts!
