Buttermilk Pie Recipe for Your Thanksgiving Feast

By A Cowboy's Wife | November 13, 2014

Poor ol’ buttermilk pie.  It’s often misconceived as yucky because of the buttermilk in dessert form, however, it’s actually a very sweet & delicious pie.  Buttermilk pie is my oldest son’s favorite pie ever,  so to prepare for our huge Thanksgiving feast, I’m practicing early using Sugar In The Raw Organic White®!  It went over really well in my Halloween dessert and even you guys seem to really understand the benefits of using  so I said what the heck, let’s do it for this Thanksgiving dessert!

Buttermilk Pie Recipe

Buttermilk pie is a really rich, decadent dessert y’all.  That’s why it’s even more special to make this during Thanksgiving….it’s not a pie that you’d consume regularly because of its richness but when you do, it’s #purejoy.  It’s a custard-like pie that needs to cool and set before eating.  It gets golden on the top and is just heavenly.

The recipe is quick but it takes a good 45 minutes to an hour depending on  your oven and altitude.  Have patience ’cause it’s worth every bite!  Just a quick reminder if you’re new to Sugar In The Raw Organic White®, here’s what to know about it…Sugar In the Raw Organic White® works just like regular sugar, however, it is GMO free and Vegan friendly.   You don’t use it any different and it’s great for cookies, cakes, pies, etc.

Enjoy y’all and Happy Thanksgiving  to you and yours.

We have made buttermilk pie forever, but our recipe is not like this and does not use anywhere near this amount of sugar.
