Cleaning Out the Freezer and Eating Three Cheese Chicken

By A Cowboy's Wife | November 2, 2010

We have an upright freezer that just doesn’t hold what we need it to so this weekend, we cleaned it out because we are giving it to my nephew and replacing it with a chest freezer and new food.  Chest freezers seem to hold so much more than an upright in my opinion and when you get beef like we do, we need something that can hold a lot.

On the bottom shelf, I happen to find a bag of Lean Cuisine’s Market Creations for Two.  If you recall, last time I had the Steamy Garlic one and it was so dang good.  This time we had Three Cheese Chicken.  I was so happy to find it because we are on rations at the moment. I didn’t want to buy anything until we got our new freezer so we are just eating what’s in our “stockpile” if you will.

It was just as good as the Steamy Garlic one so I’m convinced they are all good!  Truett loved the cheese on the broccoli!  He kept picking that out to eat.

Did you guys ever try it from the last time I mentioned it?  Anyways, you should give them a try.  GREAT for just two obviously and the fact that our 4 year old eats them and isn’t picky at all, is great.  The older boys are at school and who wants to cook a big meal just for a couple of two of us right?

So, do you prefer upright or chest and if you’ve tried the Market Creations, which ones do you like? I’ve only tried three of them so I’d love to hear what everyone else has tried. Hope everyone’s weekend went well. We had a cake walk for the Fall Festival. Will be sharing photos soon!

I think the upright would be nice so you can see better your food storage.

We have a chest freezer and are happy with it. It is less than 3 yrs old. For now it is perfect for us!!!

Havent tried the lean cusine for 2 but I do love their regular stuff.

I have always wanted one of the chest freezers as an additional freezer for my meats.

Funny I am trying to do the opposite! We just ate through the food on our chest freezer and I defrosted it and cleaned it out. I’m saving for an upright freezer instead. The chest freezer I don’t feel organized and everytime I need something I’m digging through piles of things to the bottom. Too bad we aren’t local to each other or we could trade!

We have a small chest freezer. The only thing with it is everything piles up on top of everything else and you can’t see what’s on the bottom.

I have had both and I totally prefer the upright freezers!! You have shelves and can stack stuff on different shelves and know what is where. The chest freezer….the stuff that got buried on the bottom never got used and eaten..to me, that is such a waste of money. And I don’t want to spend time digging through it to see what is on the bottom. Just my two cents…lol

Actually, the chest freezers are awesome now with all the compartments they put in them now and I think our situation is unique because we get a whole beef cut up so we stack (in each compartment) ribeyes, ground beef, stew meat, etc….so it works perfect for us.
