Did you know that Truett learned many of his letters because of Leapfrog’s Text and Learn? Well he did. He loves that thing and in fact, he loves all of the Leapfrog products like this new Leapfrog Leapster Explorer. That is why I’m proud to be a Leapfrog Ambassador. I love seeing him enjoying something that’s actually teaching him stuff. He passed the refrigerator letters one to a younger kiddo than him but that was his favorite for a long time. Anyways, Leapfrog sent us a HOT NEW product that won’t hit store shelves until July 15 or after. I mentioned the name already; the Leapfrog Leapster Explorer and Truett LOVE LOVE LOVES it! I think one of the reasons is because it’s touchscreen so he feels all grownup..sorta like his brothers playing their DS’s and all. Clearly he’s too young for one of those so this has been absolutely perfect for him! When we first opened it up, all I had to show him was how to turn it on, how to get started and that he can use the Stylus pen or his finger. He literally has played it for hours, even skipped a pony ride because of it which is a huge shocker. We have had to take it away from him because he was wanting to play it nonstop. I found him in his room making noises after 10pm one night and guess what he was doing? Yep, he was playing that game! Little stinker had sneaked it to bed with him.

Truett loves the Toy Story and his favorite is Spelling Mode where you have to match the letters on the shelves using a crane like thing. That has helped his letter skills and keeps is fresh on his mind. He also enjoys the train tracks a great deal. He’s having to think and use a bit of strategy to figure out how to lay those tracks so that the train gets from one station to the next. The funny thing is that my husband loves this one equally as much! It’s a cute sight to see him playing it and Truett saying, “Gah Dad, it’s MY turn” heehee
Once I showed Truett how to turn it on, get started, and how to use the pen, he was a pro in no time. He easily found the games and figured out to play them and if there was a game that stumped him, he would ask for help and then it was no problem for him. So far the games are full of variety; fun, thinking, and educational games. We haven’t really found one that we don’t like yet and I doubt we will. We are extremely happy with the Leapster Explorer and it’s something that is permanently attached to Truett’s hip now. He goes nowhere without it.
I only have ONE critisizm and that is wishing that the Stylus pen holder was on the right side instead of the left. Because the vast majority of people are right-handed, it’s kind of awkward reaching over to the left side to place the pen in its’ holder. Other than that, it’s a perfect product for your child to own!

I can’t thank LeapFrog enough for sending us the unit for us to review. It’s been a blast and I know Truett thanks you too!I tried to get video but Truett was not having it. Talk about toddler attitude..geesh!

Both my kids have the Leapster ll and they LOVE them. A great learning tool:)
My older two kiddos had a leappad but I got rid of it when I thought I was done with having young-uns! My almost 4 year old would love the Explorer!!!
We love the leapfrog table. We had it in storage and took it out for my sister’s 1 year old to play with when they came for a visit and he won’t let me put it back up! He also loved the alphabet drum and the farm magnet that you match the the animals with.
We love fridge phonics!

My girls liked the fridge letters, but I think those are real popular. How cool he had so much fun with this, and I guessing he’s sittin’ in his undies in that blue chair! ; ) Long Live Cowboys!
My two babies love the fridge letters they stay in the kitchen forever re-arranging them.
My boys love their Tag books….everytime we do our Walmart shopping they get to buy a new one if they behave while shopping!!
There isn’t a Leapfrog product we don’t love! My oldest has the Didj, the middle one has the Leapster 2, and the youngest loves her fridge phonics.
I FB’d! @ jeninevittgeiger
Perfect timing! I was just righting out my son’s b-day list. Was going to check out the new Leap Frog products since my boys love them. I need to keep him sharp before Kindergarten starts!
My 5 year old has a Leapster but her brother doesn’t. How nice if he could have his own.

My two youngest boys (now 12 and 9) have the LeapPad, which I couldnt even find on the site now! They loved it and it helped the older one with his reading skills which were pretty bad until I got the Leap Frog Leappad. My grandkids use it now ( I have four grown kids, all with kids of their own!) and they love it just as much as the boys did. The Explorer would be a nice thing to have when one of the grandkids comes to stay with Nana…which is pretty often, since I have TEN!
My little boy loves his Tag Reader Jr . I loved that it really helped to increase his vocabulary and general knowledge.

my son has a leapfrog digi similar to a DS only the games have learning obstacles and he loves it. Gmes are hard to find though, seems like this would have more games asscessible .
I can’t remember what the name of our Leapfrog toy is, but we luv it! Its a lap reader, that u can change out stories, and has a pencil type thing that points to words and pics and has cute little songs and helps the kiddos learn to read and recognize words. We’ve had it for several years and it still works like new! Leapfrog is great for learning. As a stay at home mom, we really appreciate learning activities since my 3 year old doesn’t go to preschool yet! I’ve got smart cookies for kids, and a lot of it is thanks to learning toys like Leapfrog!
We have the Leapster LMax and my boys love them. We had to replace the Leapster twice because it quit working but Leapsters customer service is outstanding! They replaced it for free both times! Leapster products are the best!
We have the tag junior and we love i because iit helps my daughter to read ALONG!
My son had a leapster when he was younger as well, he had all kinds of games and educational ones too…..it was great for car rides. My daughter is 4 and she would love this!!!

Hi Lori. Although my daughter, who is 21 months, has never had a Leapster product, I sure would like to get one for her. My nephew, however, who is 5 years old, has had several of the products and he absolutely LOVES them. Thanks for everything you do. Take care.
we have tried the leap frog pen and charlotte loves it!
we haven’t tried any of the computer-type leap frog items but have a few of the other items!
Hey there Lori!
My son Alex got a LeapFrog Tag Jr. as a gift and he absolutely loves it! He’s three and a half and he’ll just sit there with his books with a huge grin on his face, he loves that when he points to different pictures in the books there are all kinds of songs, noises, script and questions for him, He also laughs when he turns it on and it says “hello, Alex!” He looks at me with such amazement, like, how does it know MY name!? Gotta love it!
The LeapFrog Leapster Explorer looks awesome, I think it’s time for Alex to pass on the Tag Jr. to his (almost) 2 year old brother and experience another great learning toy! If Truett has learned his letters with the Leapster, I think I might just love to win this as much as Alex would!
Thank you for entering me!
Take care, Sara
