My birthday was in March and as usual, my Mom always gets me something. She’s the only one that I get a gift from most of the time. She normally will ask and ask until she knows exactly what I want but this time around, she took upon herself to pick something out all by herself. And I’m glad she did. She picked out such fun and beautiful gifts this here foodie loved.
Meet Chica. We do dishes together and every time I use her, I smile. Who would have thought a scrubber could be so much fun right? But I love her and she makes my dish washing job much easier. Now if only her brother could was around to wash clothes, I’d be in heaven. I don’t know where she got her and I couldn’t find her online but I did find this cute blinged out Heart Shape Scrubber that would make a great gift, perhaps for Mother’s day?

I should have taken another photo of these because what you probably don’t realize is that these 3 colorful colanders, from Progressive International, are actually very small. So small that the red one fits in my hand perfectly. Just too cute and useful. I can drain olives with it. The other ones are just decoration for the moment, unless I can decide to make pasta for an ant.

And then there’s the pig…the cute little pig that scrapes bowls and also makes me giggle because when you turn it around, there’s the cutest little curly pig tail on the back. I can’t help but to snort when using it. I couldn’t find this exact product but did find another pig kitchen tool. I think you can find other animals too. I have a couple of others I might share later on with ya.

The Copper Bowl, one of my favorite things. I don’t even use it often but I love to look at it. I love to touch it. It hangs above my stove. I have a thing for copper kitchen items. I had mentioned to my Mom how much I loved this bowl but was still surprised that she took note of that and remembered so that when it was time for gift buying, she knew exactly what I wanted.

I love all these gifts. What are some of your favorite, and perhaps unique foodie gift ideas that you’ve received?

My first dehydrator was a birthday gift from a friend, I don’t have it any more but I loved it and thought of my friend every time I used it.
My mother-in-law will bring me surprise treats from TJMAXX. From the section in housewares that has maple syrup, sea salt, etc. It’s fun because they are usually unique items that are of good quality! Of course she removes the price tag! :)
Happy belated birthday to you! And what fun gifts you got. I love copper bowls, too. Almost like jewelry for the kitchen. ;)
