Kitchen HD Laminate Countertops, Help!

By A Cowboy's Wife | April 8, 2010

Thanks to Countertop.com, my kitchen will be getting a spiffy makeover with their beautiful HD Laminate countertops!  I’m so excited and would love to hear your opinions during the process.  The first step was to pick around 15 sample tiles of my favorite countertop styles.  Below in the photo are the 15 I chose, each with a number for you to vote on.  The dark wood is my cabinets and while they look a little poor at the moment, I have every intention on cleaning them up and restoring them a bit.

After I narrow it down to about 3 or 4 colors, I’ll get sent bigger pieces to lay on my counters to compare and will have backsplashes recommended to me based on my decision.

You can pick up to 3 favorites!  Thanks for your help, and I’ll keep you updated!

I only picked one – #12. The dark browns in the pattern is just enough to compliment the color of the countertops with a pop. :)

I went with 1, 12 and 15 but the pics are really small.

I love my new countertops that are similar to #4 and #6, but my cupboards are a lighter wood. So for your dark wood, I’d pick #13 – good luck choosing!

I think dark cabinets go great with lighter counters, it brightens up the kitchen! I picked 4 and 6, and then also 3 for a tad darker. So excited for you!

    #9 because it’s truly shines!
#13 is good to flatter you wood tone.
#5~Well it has a surprise hint purple.

It all depends on your other colors.

Chose 9( for a ritzy spa modern & elgant look.)
Do not choose this golden one if your going with stanless steel. Black would look good or white.

Choose #13 if your style is more country, & rusty & warm. Great with stainless steel very high end lodge feel.

Choose 5 which is mor REGAL if you wish to feel like a queen is your kitchen.
All surfaces would go. Even would make A RED Toaster or Blender POP!

I Have to Admit! I would CHOOSE #5
    above all others.

I mean the other’s are nice, but do you want nice & neutral or Do you want a HAVE That is funky & awesome!

The slight purple hue would be so fun to work with.
Yellow & red accents would blend well.
Imagine a big Vase or plant of Violets sitting on your counter.

So are you bland & neutral or are you a little unquie?

I voted for 10 and 13 but couldn’t say for sure without knowing the color of the walls and the floor.

I like darker countertops myself, so I would have to say 2 or 15. Congrats!!

I have a tiny kitchen. I tell my husband we are a Sam’s Club family, with a Mini Mart kitchen! :)
