KitchenAid Refrigerator, The Ultimate Appliance Gift for Every Home

By A Cowboy's Wife | November 15, 2010

The KitchenAid Refrigerator is Ah-MAZING!   I have always wanted one with the freezer on bottom and am in awe of how much it holds.  KitchenAid sent me French Door Bottom Mount Interior Dispensing, Architect Series II.   Just the beauty of it breathtaking but the features and knowing it’s a brand I can trust is what really counts in my book.

The first thing we noticed was how tall and wide it was, way different than our previous. It’s also not as a deep as a standard fridge but the width and height makes up for it.  It holds a massive amount of food people. I immediately unpacked it, removing all the wrap and putting the shelves up, which was super easy!  The door shelves are removable and very easy to move up and down.  The front of them are clear so that you can see through and quickly grab the item of choice.  The inside shelves are adjustable as well.  There are three total drawers; two standard drawers for veges and such and one long deli drawer.  LOVE that deli drawer!

You can easily adjust the temp and we especially love the door alarm.  It beeps when the doors are left open too long.  The freezer rocks!  It’s ice making mean machine, with a scoop!  LOTS of storage in the freezer. MUCH more storage than a regular fridge freezer.   I wish I would have just bought one a long time ago.  It really is worth the extra money in my opinion.  The features are great, the storage is big, and the overall design is sleek.

Watch the video for a personal tour!

I have to say, this would make ANYONE happy. My husband loves this thing so much so I think it would make a great family gift!

more to come…….

Disclosure: KitchenAid provided the product free of cost. In return, I am sharing my honest opinions of it.  My opinions are my own, always have been, always will be.  It’s a freakin’ awesome fridge!

If you could see me right now, you’d be amazed that any human could turn that shade of green! ;-)

Seriously, Lori, that is all kinds of amazing! I’m so excited for you.

Yes, totally envious because that’s kind of my dream fridge, but more than that.. knowing your boys, and you, I don’t think there’s anyone more worthy of a fridge like that! I know you’ll definitely use the amazing freezer “drawer” and all the space and great features.

    Congrats, hon!

Good tour. I’ve been drooling over these French door models for a while now. Love the alarm feature. Can we just set that to go off whenever I open it to help me lose some weight? Lol. What kind of warranty does kitchenaid give?

Is it weird that when you become a mom, you drool over things like fridges? That fridge looks huge! I bet it looks great in your new kitchen. One thing I think it is missing though is the water and ice dispenser. When I look for a new refrigerator, that’s a must-have.

There is an inside water dispenser. We don’t prefer the ones on the outside cause Truett would be there NONSTOP. My FIL has one and I cannot tell you how much water he would spill out and how much ice he would make come out. ALL the time. Little turkey!

What a dream come true. I absolutely love this baby. Our fridge is so cluttered, it would be nice to have something larger with a deli drawer so Jay can access his snacks with ease. KitchenAid is the bomb.

ME WANTS!!!! The avocado green fridge that my kitchen is currently rockin’ just isn’t cutting it anymore. I wouldn’t know what to do with all of that storage. I’m kidding, I could think of a gazillion things to fill up that fridge with.

I love the pull out drawer in the refrigerator and the idea of adding healthy snacks for the kids to go in and get on their own. The door alarm would constantly be going off at my house but I could see how it would be a great way to keep the little ones from leaving the doors open for too long.

Congrats on the fridge. I hope you get lots of wonderful use out of it.

Love it! The deli drawer would be amazing for my little munchkin too, plus I love to throw parties and I have all of these long silver platters and trays – it would be awesome to store them in there and just pull them out when I’m ready – plus it would save some major prep time because it could be done well before the party, and not just in the 30 minutes before guests arrive.

I love the freezer on the bottom feature, too! Thanks for doing a video review – it really helps to see and understand all of the features. You’re making me wish that I didn’t rent so that I could have pretty new appliances too!

I have always wanted a freezer-on-the-bottom model – my Nana had on when I was growing up. Made sense to me. Why not save the bending over for the *less* frequent activity? Plus it made getting to the Popsicles easier for me ;)

But I just haven’t ever invested in one. This is making me rethink it though. It’s gorgeous Lori!

Lori, what a great frig!! I have always liked the bottom freezers too, but worried Bryson would unload the darn thing on me! lol Plus they seem to have more room where it matters, and are much easier to access items in the frig as well.

I love the door alarm. I think every fridge needs one of those. I also love the extra baskets in the freezer. That would help with my problem of everything getting lost in those type of freezers.

I can haz pretty fridge, too, please? :)

I love it!! We bought a new house a month ago and the appliances could use updating. This is exactly the type of fridge I’m going to hold out for….worth the wait, for sure.

    Enjoy!

That is so awesome. I love the french door style fridges with the bottom freezer. Right now we have the side by side that came with the house which is has been the biggest pain ever. I can’t fit hardly anything in the freezer, especially not my cakes that I need to chill during the crumb coat. The ice bin and water dispenser take up half the door space and a third of the actual freezer storage space. It’s a nightmare I tell you.

Disclaimer – I love my fridge. It has ice in the door, which prefer. That being said, that deli drawer is awesome. Also, I too have always wanted the freezer on the bottom. Things like turkeys and ice cream cakes and pizzas don’t fit in a side by side freezer, which is why we have the chest freezer. With your freezer I might actually be able to live life using only one freezer.

That’s an amazing fridge. Posts are always much better with a video. Glad you shared that too.
