Me and My Wooden Spoon

By A Cowboy's Wife | February 19, 2012

The past few weeks have been crazy to say the least.  While the blog has suffered a bit, there have been lots of answered prayers that I’m truly thankful for and that needed my undivided attention.  Things are back to normal again for the most part.  I have a 3 day weekend to Arlington to see Joyce Meyer but I think that’s about it now that basketball is over!!  I’ve had a few questions from readers, bloggers, and PR that I’m gonna try to answer here in one post because I’m behind on emails, severely.

First, if you are new here, then I highly recommend you subscribe via email to receive updates.   You can also join the My Wooden Spoon’s Facebook Community if you’re a facebooker.  I have several free ecookbooks that you can download and that are only found there.  Speaking of, maybe I should add another!   You can also follow @ACowboysWife on Twitter and just in case you have no clue who A Cowboy’s Wife is, that would be me!  I’ll warn you though, I’m not on twitter all that much. I prefer Facebook as I feel we can have longer, more meaningful conversations there.

I have also decided to revive ELM again, although, I have no clue what I plan on doing yet.   If you knew the site before, feel free to share your thoughts and ideas with me.  I could use them!

READERS

I have a few readers upset with me ’cause I haven’t continued the meal planning thing I was doing.  I’m so sorry. I loved doing it and will start back up March 1st.  I never thought some things would happen that did (in a good way) and I just couldn’t help but give it my all.  Soooo, if you have ideas on how I can improve it the meal planning ‘meme’, please do share with me!   They will most definitely be considered!

BLOGGERS

I’ve had several bloggers ask if they can purchase an advertisement spot here on My Wooden Spoon and the answer is yes.  While I don’t do it very often, I have no reason not to.  The price is $50 for 30 days for a 125×125 spot.   You can email me at advertise@mywoodenspoon.com  with ‘Ad Purchase’ in the subject.  Please be sure and do that too because I have emails that filter into folders, all with a priority level.  That price is for bloggers only because, just like me, they are all trying to make a living with blogging, on a budget, and welcome exposure.

PR

While I’ll absolutely consider everything, I am really looking for long term campaigns in 2012.   I will NOT review and/or giveaway a package of peanuts or a can of coffee so save your pitches.  Now if you want to create a custom campaign on how I can incorporate those peanuts or coffee into a recipe, then we might have more to talk about.

I took almost a year long break from them last year but will be attending conferences/events this year.   I appreciate all the support I’ve received despite all the declining I did in 2011.  I really just needed to focus on me and my family at that time.  I’m fresh this year and definitely want to venture out again.  I’ll be attending the Disney Social Conference in April and would happily accept a small sponsorship for my flight.  I’m also currently looking for sponsorship for Blogher and possibly Blogher Food (<– which I have never attended).  I’m undecided about any other conferences at this point.

I think that’s it y’all!!  Just in case you haven’t seen them in a while, here’s Truett, my man, and a family one of us all.

I don’t know how I missed this post but you’re wearing my shirt! LOL I can’t tell if it’s exactly the same but I have a purple butterfly shirt that looks almost exactly like that.
