Old School (literally)

By A Cowboy's Wife | January 30, 2008

We have this really old school, close to where I get my mail , that hasn’t been used in many, many years.  In fact, I believe there’s a homeless man that lives in the basement part of it, or at least stays there off and on.  People stop by there and take snapshots of it all the time and yet, I have never done this.  As I was driving to the mail (beings I carry my camera everywhere) I decided to stop and take a photo.  Now it’s not the greatest photo.  It’s a little lopsided and the wind was blowing about 40mph but I figured I could work with it.  I got home, uploaded it, and then thought it was really an ugly picture afterall.  I decided to do some small editing and I mean small.  I never edit because I have no knowledge in the area.  Anyways, I decided to make it look old like..since it is old.  You be the judge.  Do you like the old look (Sepia), should I have done black & white, or leave it alone?

I like what you did with it! It doesn’t have to be ‘perfect’ to be a GREAT photo! So, started that photo blog yet?

I love the sepia tone. I agree with Leigh – it doesn’t have to be perfect.

I think the blue sky goes well against the dusty building – so I’m a fan on the original.

My choice is the black and white. I think the desolate grays make it look more alone, more solemn so I choose it.

“Close to where you get your mail”… how far do you have to go to get your mail??? :jawdrop:

    I’m a city person, yes :D

Cool old building, although I wouldn’t go there alone at night…
