Strawberry Cream Crumble

By A Cowboy's Wife | April 29, 2013

When you read one of the ingredients for this recipe, you will probably be a little bit surprised.   While many of my friends opted to make homemade versions of the popular Poptart, I opted to use store-bought Poptarts for my Strawberry Cream Crumble.  It was by far one of the easiest, most flavorful crumbles I’ve had.  Most crumble mixtures are just some sort of plain bread or cake and don’t have a lot of flavor to them except for a hint of sugar or brown sugar.  I wanted my taste buds going crazy with every single bite.

The best thing about this crumble is that there is no baking involved.  You simply chill in the fridge for a few hours or overnight and you’re good to go!  Truett thought I was super cool for using Poptarts this way.  And hey, I think it’s cool that he thinks I’m cool so it’s a win-win!  You can find the 16 value pack online for $3.50 at Walmart.com

You might think that the poptart filling would make it hard to blend into a fine crumble but it wasn’t at all.

This would be fun to make in blueberry or chocolate or any poptart flavor because you can use pie or pudding filling!   What flavor would you combine to give a powerful punch to your tastebuds?

Sounds yummy! I may try to bake the pop tart crust a little to see if it will go together like a graham cracker crust does. I’m having visions of chocolate pop tart crusted yumminess.
