I have always loved watching my kids play sports, whether for fun or competitively. One of the things I don’t love, is how much it the equipment and accessories can cost, especially if you’re buying from an actual sporting goods store. I’m showing you that you don’t have to spend a fortune on sporting goods though. There are good quality pieces found at Walmart that are very affordable. This is where most of our stuff comes from.
As Toby trains himself and prepares for the upcoming football season, he equips himself with the necessary gear to train. Receiver gloves can be a vital piece of gear for football players. Walmart had the Riddell running back/receiver gloves for well under $10 bucks. I believe Toby said they cost around $6. And the good news? Is the Riddell brand holds up to the ones that you buy for $60. They are built right and have attractive colors and patterns. Toby said they also have a nice selection of Riddell Under Armor as well.
I’ve talked to you about Truett playing golf but I never mentioned where his kid’s golf clubs came from. Yep, Walmart. And to be fully honest, I bought them used but the lady I bought them from got them at Walmart. They have many choices and also have men’s and women’s clubs. They have tons of golf balls, tees, gloves, and even putting accessories to help you get your game on when you can’t be at the course.
One of the things I love about Toby, is that he’s always getting Truett outside. Truett had NEVER played baseball before so when Toby came from Walmart with two baseball gloves, baseball bat, and a ball, he was pretty excited! Another reason this moment was special for me is that Toby bought all this with his own money just so Truett could enjoy the outdoors with him. I love that!
As you can see, Rawlings is a brand we all know and the Easton baseball bats as well. Baseball equipment can actually be pretty pricey so for you to be able to buy this stuff at Walmart as opposed to a sporting good competitor, you’ll be able to save LOTS of money. They have youth gloves from $10-$25 bucks which is a steal. Their bat was $39. Please know though, that if you’re looking for more competitively built gear, Walmart has those too. I’m just focusing on things that we have bought ourselves for everyday use and for football season.
We have bought fitness equipment, our current swimming pool, and all our hunting gear at Walmart. It’s our first stop for sporting goods and we almost never have to go to another store to find what we need. I am hoping that Walmart will being in some cleats for football and golf. I believe some stores do have baseball and soccer cleats right now so you might check that out.
What sporting goods gear & equipment do you shop for?
