Barbecue Sauce

By A Cowboy's Wife | December 9, 2007

This recipe was submitted by Laura from Laura Williams Musings.  Thank you for your submission Laura!!!

1 cup ketchup
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 6-ounce can of tomato paste
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup soy sauce
salt to taste
pepper to taste
1-1/2 tsp hot sauce
1 med. onion chopped (or you can use 2 TBSP of onion powder)
2 cloves garlic, minced ( or you can use 2 TBSP garlic powder)
2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp dry mustard (you can use 1 TBSP of regular prepare mustard if you don’t have the dry)

Ladle into jars and seal. Water bath can at a rolling boil for 20 minutes.

I have no idea how many pints jars one batch will make as I always make many more batches at one time.

Would you say this is on the spicy side of BBQ sauce with it’s hot sauce and chili powder?
