Oh man did me and Truett have a blast painting Christmas crafts! He kept saying, “I LOVE to paint mom”, over and over again. It was sweet! Truett painted ornaments and snowmen while I painted ‘LOVE’.

I have to say, Truett did not inherit the artistic side of his dad and oldest brother. Nevertheless, I was proud that he was proud of the crafts he painted. What made me even more proud, was seeing the picture he chose to go into the ‘JOY’. I had him go through the photos on my desktop and told him to pick one to put in the middle of the ornament and he chose the one of him and ‘Pop’. I just loved that!

The brushes, wooden ornaments and decorations, and the paint came from Walmart. We have a decent craft section for the size of our store so finding all of these shouldn’t be an issue.

One of the things about letting kids, be kids, is not getting all OCD about how messy it looks or their color choices. I just him do what his little heart desired! I loved his snowman. He was patient enough to let the white dry before adding the face and buttons. Although, he does look like a bleeding snowman. LOL

I’ll have these decorations and ornaments for as long as I live and hopefully can pass them on to Truett when he has his own family. How neat would that be!

We’ve never really painted Christmas ornaments and decor before but I think we’ll make this a yearly tradition. Do you have any crafting traditions that you and your family do this time of year?
