I’m thrilled to share how Walmart is Empowering Women all over the world and how you can help support them! It’s really simple. Walmart.com has dedicated a space on their website where you can buy products made from women-based businesses from around the world. They are starting with over 200 products from nine countries, including the US.
What I love is on the main page, you can shop different sections. Here’s one about the women in Rwanda. If you choose to click on the ‘read more’, you’ll see this and have the option to shop some of these products made by these women. Those baskets are AMAZING and I absolutely LOVE buying handmade. To also know that my purchase is helping to empower these women to create more new jobs and better the lives of their families and communities, well, just makes it that much more precious.
It amazes how beautiful these pieces are that are being made by these women. I’m in awe and would purchase one of each if I could. I know when we went to Belize, this little old lady was making handbags and I just had to buy one from her. To see all the hard work she was putting into each bag was inspirational. I am so tickled to see Walmart promoting this cause and helping women in all countries. They’re doing their part but it takes everyone else to share the info and make a purchase.
I hope you consider something like this for your next gift purchase; a meaningful gift for the person you are buying for and for the people making it. Check out this video and see if it doesn’t make you want to support these do-good efforts.
