Maple Glazed Ham with Pomegranate & Pineapple Reduction

By A Cowboy's Wife | December 9, 2013

If y’all are looking for a simple way to dress up your Christmas ham, boy have I got something cooked up for you!  This Maple Glazed Ham with Pomegranate & Pineapple Reduction will make mouths water!

Maple Glazed Ham with Pomegranate and Pineapple

Ham can be a little pricey but so worth it.  We usually buy the Smithfield Spiral hams at Walmart.  You’ve probably seen them with the gold foil packaging.   They are so flavorful on their own but when you add this pomegranate & pineapple reduction to it, you’ll be in heaven!   You might also consider the deli when buying your ham. They usually have some bone in, boneless, spiral cut, etc.

You won’t have any trouble finding the pomegranates and pineapple in Walmart’s produce section either.  Of course, you can absolutely used canned pineapple if you want to but I recommend a fresh cut pineapple!    Also, a reduction just means you’re thickening and intensifying the flavor.  If you’ve never made a reduction, there’s nothing scary about it at all.  I highly encourage you to give it a try because it’s super flavorful!

How do y’all dress up your hams?  I’d love to get some new ideas! I’m not that adventurous when it comes to trying new things, but I’m learning that it’s not as scary as I make it out to be.   Maybe this will become one of your new Christmas favorites!
