Morning, Afternoon, and Evening

By A Cowboy's Wife | January 24, 2010

Doesn’t it seem like life just passes you by so fast sometimes? Do you have take a moment to look around and reflect on the beauty of the day and the mystery of the night?

It’s easy to do on the ranch but I can imagine how hard it would be for town folk.  I’ve been in Houston and seen the sun rise and fall and it sure would be a pretty site if there weren’t airplanes, lights, and buildings obstructing the view.

I just can’t imagine not ever being here one day and seeing these beautiful works of nature, life.  I sure hope you’re taking a few minutes to soak in the morning, afternoon, and evening of every day.

Within the last couple of weeks, I’ve had the pleasure of watching the moon rise, the sun set, and the fog lay.  How ’bout you?

I don’t know what’s prettier, the weeping willow or the moon.

I really love your picture of the weeping willow and the moon.
It kinda looks like the moon has it’s head tilted and is saying, “Oh don’t cry dear friend, the birds will soon be back to sing upon your branches once again.”
They are all really lovely though.

I used to love where I lived because I could look out my back door and see Pike’s Peak mountain, but now too many houses block the view.

Thanks for reminding us about the important things in life Lori. When I first got sick, I used to spend hours looking outdoors, watching the birds and nature. Now, I make time to relax and enjoy what’s around me. I am blessed to live close to the ocean so our sunsets are beautiful. We sometimes drive to the beach just to watch them. I’ll have to take my camera next time.

Gorgeous photos! And yes – it’s not the same in the city. I’m a city girl by nature so it’s a tradeoff I happily make but I do miss the amazing night sky filled with stars. Around here there’s so much light pollution that it seems like daytime in the middle of the night.
