I have to admit, he is freakin’ cute but boy can he give me some attitude. At three years old mind you! Notice how he didn’t look away from the camera though, instead he made his little face with those squenched up lips. He loves the camera so there’s no way he’d turn away. I wanted him to smile so I said, “If you’re gonna act like a turd, go lay in the yard” and that’s the look I got. Clearly he didn’t find it funny but his expression made me smile.
While walking through a gazillion people at the rodeo, I decided to fall behind a bit and see if I could get a father-son moment. It’s not easy to get a clear shot while walking through big crowds but I think the one I got is perfect. Something I realized after taking these shots is that I sorta forgot about a few things that I love….taking photos. I’ve gotten so wrapped up in things online that I can’t breathe half the time but I’ve realized it and am doing something about it. This is my passion. These moments are priceless and I don’t want to miss any of them.
Oh Lori – those photos are priceless. Hang on to those looks and memories. My son is now 26 and although each step of the way brought new adventures (and looks), you can’t go back and get that innocence.

I completely understand about the whole being wrapped up in online stuff. I had to kinda step back there for awhile too and just gather my thoughts and figure out where I’m going with all of this. I’ve changed a lot of things and my priority has become my family and doing things that I love before all else. Do what you love and take your time doing it so that you can enjoy this more when you’re able to do it.

I love the hand photo it is priceless. It just shows that you truly captured something so simple like father/son holding hands and yet made it a one of kind of memory. I recently just started reading your blog and I love it. All the photos are great but maybe I am a little bias because I love to show horses.
