Adding a Little BBQ Decor for Summer!

By A Cowboy's Wife | May 31, 2011

I know, most of you are sprucing up your backyards with flowers but around here in Texas, we spruce up with a new grill!  We’ve been cooking on charcoal for a while now on one of those little bitty grills and finally decided it was time to upgrade to something bigger.

Do you guys remember my patio makeover?  We got a new patio set, outside rug and mesquite cooker.  We love to cook on mesquite but it takes forever sometimes so it’s nice to use charcoal, our preferred method now.  You see those $17 charcoal grills everywhere, which is what we had, but since we’re feeding all our boys and other teens that spend their weekends with us, we needed something bigger to cook more.  I decided on a Kingsford Charcoal Grill.  That’ll spruce up any backyard don’t ya think?

We cleaned up our patio area and set it up.  It didn’t take very long to put together. There were a lot of parts but it was a breeze really.  Not sure if you know this but Walmart will actually assemble it for free!  Me and my husband like putting things together but I know most folks don’t so if you’re one of those, ask them to assemble it!

We had a fabulous cookout for Memorial Day. We invited a few friends over and cooked Cornish hens, baby back ribs, hamburgers, and Boudains!

Here’s our backyard area with the new grill!

What are you doing to spruce up your backyard for Summer?

Love the grill choice Lori. We have a charcoal/smoker combo and we love it. Nothing is better than grilling on a charcoal grill instead of gas.

You are obviously very serious about your BBQ. . . but then again what else would I expect from a Texan!

Charcoal does have a great flavor, but I am all for quick and easy with my propane grill :)
