For 3 years now, we’ve participated in a fantasy football league with our BIL, in hopes of being the champions in the end. I totally feel like this year, is our year! Yeah, I say this every year but this year is really the year y’all!!
We sat down the other night to draft our picks for the 2015 season. It took 3 1/2 hours to do this. And since our BIL lives north of the Carrollton area, we have to do the draft via phone with them. On the day of, we usually spend an hour going through players, printing out sheets of top 50 in each position, and then narrowing down our draft wish list of top 15 in each position. Of course, by this time, we’ve already spent many hours watching ESPN for the latest news on all the players. I mean, what kind of fantasy football players would we be if we didn’t spend countless hours researching our potential picks?
That evening, our kitchen table is covered with spreadsheets, printed out lists, chips & dip, and the trusty ol’ laptop. I’m in charge of writing down everyone’s picks in a spreadsheet and then once it starts to get to the 6th round and on, I’m rushing to type in comparisons of players to see which one is a better pick and then by the time the 10th round comes, we could care less who we get.
This is the first year we didn’t get ANY Dallas Cowboys players. We always get Dez Bryant but were saddened when another team drafted him early! In fact, most of our top picks were taken really early, which is unlike years past. It left us scrambling to figure out who we wanted! While our draft list isn’t ideal, it’s not horrible. I think there’s some potential and we did get our QB pick, Russell Wilson.
With that, I introduce you to our 2015 NFL fantasy football team, at least for a couple of weeks. ha!
